DAVIE · After several days of absorbing hits on and off the field, Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper sidestepped any potential war of words far more nimbly than he's been eluding ongoing pass rushers.

"Just go out and work," Culpepper said Wednesday after practice. "You've got to work. People are going to have their own opinions or whatever. The thing is, I just want to make sure I'm making the proper steps and the proper strides to try to get better every day. That's all I can do."

The Bills weren't as diplomatic after sacking Culpepper, still working back from major knee surgery, seven times in Sunday's 16-6 victory over the 0-2 Dolphins.

"No, obviously not," Bills veteran linebacker London Fletcher-Baker said when asked if Culpepper was the same quarterback of a few years ago.

"He is not healthy, as far as having the same mobility he had in Minnesota. He can't keep plays alive the way he did."

hes working his balls off for us the fans, and look at how some of us treat him in his home opener.

He's working his balls off for himself. He wants to improve HIS performance. Athletes owe us nothing really. WE didnt give him the talent, WE dont give them millions.

We just watch and cheer or jeer. Culpepper is a proud guy.. he wants to improve im sure... But i dont think fans are foremost on his mind.

So did Jay Fiedler, should we resign him? Nobody is questioning his work ethic, we want to see Miami win.

i love jay fiedler. he gave us his heart and soul every week. took us to the playoffs. what moe could you ask of him

no fiedler just had his throwing shoulder scoped, he isnt signing! lol

As for pep, he needs to get his head in the game, stop staring down recievers and dont play like he did when he had wheels.

He deserved it, and if he continues to play like doo doo, he should be riding pine in my opinion.....

yeah we really got less interceptions from his replacement. lol

Daunte always says the right things, but hasn't yet lived up to the hype, lets hope he gets it together soon, or this season is over.

Fans that attend games help pay his salary.

he seems like the type of guy who appreciates us. hes happy to be back home as well.

So Far Daunte SUCKS!!!!!!!!
I don't know if he is still not 70% or what , but if he countues to play like he has its going to be a long season......
I am hopping that we didn't make a mistake by betting the farm on him....
