Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban discussed QB Daunte Culpepper's (knee) recovery from his knee injury Tuesday, March 28, at the NFL meetings. "He did some straight-line running. He threw the ball some. He took some easy drops," said Saban, who acquired Culpepper from Minnesota earlier this month for a 2006 second-round draft choice. "It's not like this guy is not at a point where he can't start doing some things. I'm just going on what the trainer and the people doing the rehab with him did yesterday, but he was there early and stayed late and worked hard. We were pleased." Saban said he was still uncertain whether Culpepper will be ready for the Sept. 7 regular-season opener at Pittsburgh. :( http://us.rd.yahoo.com/sports/kffl/SIG=11idajbbb/*http://www.kffl.com/entry/index_yahoo_news.php

I say it now and i said it before he will not start this season just my gut feeling there not going to risk him getting hurt this early.I say he will miss the first 3 to 6 games.

This is good news. Dont know if he will be ready by the opener or not either but i am pleased he will be with us hopefully for years to come.

If we get an early bye then 6 weeks equals November. I think that is realistic. Ahead of schedule gets him in the game with a knee brace in November. That is enough time to get everybody on the same page for the playoffs.

at least he can throw the ball but he's probably using mostly his upper-body strength to do it at this point..i just can't wait till he's able to cut

yep and hopefully are backup does good to keep us in it , Oh gus we miss you already......

dam i forgot about the bye good thinking lets pray its early on the season

Thanks for the info.

Why the pout after that last part?? There's no way in the world that anyone could be certain whether he'd be ready.....the only way that they really could be certain is if they knew already that he wouldn't be ready....so right now, uncertainty is a good thing. :D

I trust the doctors, if they say he will be ready then if you ask me he will be ready. Hell, rumors have it he could be in the 90% range by training camp. Until I hear otherwise he is out starting quarterback

He will be ready for the opening game. I'm optimistic, also he said it on ESPN interview.

Why is everybody worrying about this now? We have another 5 months before we need him to be ready. Lets just wait and see. Everybody gets gung ho about it right away.

That's what I've always had in mind (3-6 games). This news is awesome though because it means he's going to be able to practice/train in the offseason, get some timing down with everyone, etc.
