I'm not talking about him playing scared of getting his knee injured again. What I mean is that he is scared to make a bad play. I think Culpepper has ran into a cold steak, just one of those times that he can't do anything right. His confidence is already a bit shaken and when something goes wrong it just makes it worse. Yesterday we seen a Culpepper that was afraid to take a shot down field because he was scared of throwing that INT. When Culpepper was in Minny he would throw the ball down field just for the chance that one of his recievers would come down with the ball, or if nothing else they would get a PI call. Some of those passes became INT's, but a deep pass being picked off is really not much different than a punt. I think he needs to start letting the ball fly. I think he has also seen how quickly S. Florida turns on a player after a couple of bad games. Nothing like adding a couple hundred more pounds of pressure to your shoulders.

I really think his struggles are mental due to the injury. Sure, he may be trying to be too perfect....but with this oline, there is no way he's gonna be perfect. While I do think he needs to learn to throw the ball away more, the oline broke down on some many passing plays yesterday it was down right horrible.

My thought is he's just not healthy and if everyone else isn't clicking on offense, he's gonna struggle. The one thing I will say, for all the throws standing flat footed I have seen thru 2 weeks, the touchdown strike to CC looked good. So from that perspective, at least there is a positive. Maybe he can build off that in the coming weeks.

they showed one play yesterday that he was looking at the primary (chambers) but the secondary (booker) was wide open for a 25 yard gain, and all he did was keep looking at chambers. he had time, get rid of the ball dang it.

He has always had a fragile ego. He needs to have a big game or it's curtains.

It wasn't just that INT. In another situation he tucked the ball and tried to run, getting sacked, when there was not immediate pressure. But, when they showed the replay, before he tucked the ball there was a WR who was WIDE open across the middle. It was panic. Part of this is a lack of confidence in the O-line. That happens to every QB. But, he does need to show more guts than he has.

This is why I love Troy Vincent:

Troy Vincent, who got put on injured-reserve last week (even though he has only a two-week hamstring injury), studied the Bills with his mates all week. "Daunte's nowhere near as mobile as he used to be,'' Vincent told me. "And he's staring down his receivers. He gets a quick read, then he locks onto his guy. We knew if we could get to him consistently, he wouldn't be able to make the plays he wanted to.''

what up justa...long time no talk. hey congrats on the win yesterday. I think you D has played very well these past 2 weeks. your secondary will be scary in the future...maybe in the near future...young D backs...your team looked fast out there. C-PEP lacks confidence and yeah you are right...he isn't back to speed yet...hopefully he can gain both back...and soon.

oh yeah i lovED troy vincent when he was a Fin as well.

Go Fins!!!

Hey SAl. Hope all is well with you and family. I was worried that Jauron couldn't play chess in a divison coached by BB and his offsprings. He wasn't my pick but if anyone deserved the benefit of a doubt, it's Marv and his decisions. So far his decisions with regards to Jauron and the draft is looking good.

Like I said on another thread, Saban should just let go of his GM or personel decisions. He's been looking into building via FA instead of the draft and a lot of them have character issues. He should just pay attention to the finer details of gettting the fins prepared for gameday and leave the office work to Meuller.

Not gonna take away anything from Buffalo you guys beat us straight up

But watch out, eventually one of those quick Losman passes is gonna get picked and taken back the distance, you could see it yesterday.

Interesting point.....certainly something to think about.

No Im just saying what I think, there were a few balls that when he released them I had no clue why.

I think your a way better team than people are giving you credit for, Losman is Fave like in the fact he always seems to try and make the throw even when you wonder why....that will lead to some INT's, gotta admit I liked Losman coming out of college, but after he struggled for a while I gave up on him, maybe he is finding it, who knows.

Don't want to turn this into a JP thread but to answer your post, he had a lot to learn coming out of a football program like Tulane. Up until now, he hasn't been coached well. He had a GM and coach that couldn't handle the lockerrroom problems properly. Wyche was good in the classroom but didn't know how to translate it onto the field.

Steve Fairchild is being given credit for developing Bulger. Hopefully he can do a better job than Mualrkey and Donahoe.Jauron is doing the exact same thing the Chargers are doing with Rivers. I wouldn't say he's the next coming of Stabbler but So far, so good. :D
