According to ProfootballTalk (reference to Palm Beach Post), the prosecutor in Minnesota isn't going to pursue Culpepper anymore:

http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm

"The decision also means that Culpepper will not be subject to discipline pursuant to the league's Personal Conduct Policy, which applies only if there's a conviction or a plea of guilty or no contest. "

Just in case anyone may have been worried about possible future league sanctions

This is not old, it's new. The prosecutor had the right to try and re-trial him, and he just decided not to. The old news was him not having enough evidence, which resulted in the case getting dismiss..

Anyone notice how dramatic the prosecutor was being? Oh god I'm not going to be able to LIVE with myself because I'm not going to prosecute a case that's completely unwinnable and would result in, at most, a fine. Oh help me.

I'm having a nasty fight with Florio about it now because he continues to use language as if Culpepper did all those things that the other three players did when the testimony came in not only from Culpepper himself but from Moe Williams as well, that Daunte never even spoke to a stripper.

I know people will think Moe lied for Daunte, but if that's true, why didn't Moe have Daunte lie for him? Moe ended up with the charges pressed against him because he admitted to contact with a stripper. He could have lied on the stand, said he had no contact with a stripper, and had Daunte lie for him. I mean, that's basically what people are accusing Daunte and Moe of doing, both getting on the stand and lying about whether Daunte had contact with a stripper...so what's one more lie? The prosecutor didn't present any witnesses, so the charges would have been dropped against both players.

Oh my god, could it possibly be that NEITHER player was lying and that Daunte really just sat in the back shooting craps? Noooo....a black man shooting craps and not fornicating with strippers? So hard to believe...

I got to keep it real here...odds are every player on that boat including Daunte participated in some illegal or immoral activities. However, thats why we have lawyers. People make mistakes, it was a mistake stepping onto that boat. Point being, Daunte is innocent by the standards of our legal system and ready to play 2moro. Good enough for me.

The charges were completely ludicrous to begin with... What kind of free country charges people for hiring strippers on their own private (rented) yacht on their own time?

I agree.

In some areas you can't touch strippers. That's plain and simple. Hiring strippers is not illegal, that's not what they are being charged with.

In San Diego you can't touch them. There was a big corruption scandal cuz a couple of strip clubs were trying to change the rule (for obvious reasons) and were bribing public officials who promised to change the rule.

Even an acting mayor got caught lol.

Anyway, yeah different municipalities have different rules.

i was going to say something like this. i mean think about it. you're rich. you're famous. you're on a boat some people only dream of. lots of nekked chicks. oh, and you're rich. hmmm, lemme see. what to do what to do. but if the legal system can't prove you did stuff, then that would be the end of it. and "if the glove don't fit..."

PLAY BALL!!!
