The Dolphins are rumored to have a lot of interest in QB Trent Green. If they do acquire him, would you Dolfans rather see Green as our QB or Culpepper. It's a tough decision because Green is a good QB, but he has no where near the same skills as C-Pep if he's healthy. Do we take the risk and start Culpepper or should we go the safe route and let Green be our QB??

Green fits Cams style of offense better, while Culpepper fits the Leinhan style better.

IMO Trent Green is the more complete fundamentally sound player;he knows the offense and has had success in it; IMO he would be more willing to accept the role of teacher.Daunte Culpepper has holes in his game with interceptions and fumbling snaps;he doesn't know the offense;not a good choice as teacher because he would be learning himself.

Depends what you want out of the position. If you want a game manager that limits mistakes maybe you get Green at this point in his career. If you want to try and hit a home run with a guy who could win a game for you instead of just trying not to lose you go C-Pep. Green has minimal left in the tank and is one hit in the head from the end of his career. IMO you keep C-Pep, resign Lemon and then draft a QB to groom. Maybe the Green talk is to help with the Lemon negotiations as a backup plan.

I disagree.

Green can run bootlegs and scramble when he has to. He can also read defenses, throws a nice ball, has a nice TD vs INT ration, and is better groomed for Cam's offense.

DC HAS to scramble to buy more time to read the defense. He's showed he has a BIG learning curve to become a pocket QB.

I would like to give Daunte a chance, but what the **** is up with his leg? Seriously. I think Cam and Mueller if they make this move do not believe he will recover. I was never a big Daunte fan before he came here, but I had faith when he did. It would suck if we had to cut him.

I always thought of Green as a product of Priest and Gonzalez. You can't deny the guy's #'s though. He has over 4000 yards passing in his last 3 yrs. His Qb ratio is high too. If we draft a QB this year, he would make the most sense to pick up.

But for the love of God get something for Culpepper, if they do get Green.

The only thing Green can scramble is his brains...oh, that was last year....

Seriously, CPep is, by far, the better QB provided they are both healthy. You might have been able to draw better comparisons when Green was 30 instead of 37, but he's done....well done...

NJ...the two guys run almost the same offense...both disciples of Coryell/Gilbride/Turner...the difference between the two is really how they call the games...Linehan has a tendency to be more vertical and Cam is a little more grind it out, but the schemes are very similar. That's not a knock on either Cam or Linehan...just a different style each uses...both have been successful....

Green...& draft a QB (if not this year, then next)
