Dante Culpepper is a much more talented QB than Brees. He has much better arm strenghth compared to Brees. Culpepper when healthy is a top 5 QB in the league. Brees is not!!!!!

:monkeyl:

I disagree. He sucks without moss who would out run, out jump, and stretch a D. CP has no accuracy as you could see this year and his wr's talent was no excuse because they were solid when Brad took over. Culpepper's only attribute is arm strenght. He won't be able to run much longer, can't read a D, and is surrounded by controversy. Brad Johnson is the best qb on that team and is the qb we should have signed last year IMO and thats why Sukpepper is available.

Yeah, the guy with the second highest career completion % (in a non-WC offense) and the highest college single season completion % (73.6%) "has no accuracy."

That argument could be made about Jim Druckenmiller too. He had a cannon for an arm.
What makes Brees better is his accuracy and his decision making.

That was with Moss. Before he had to read a D and throw to wr's that can't make every qb that they play with look great. What was his stats without Moss for his career not just last year. They suck like he does without Randy.

Did they change the O when Linehan left ? That could make a difference as to why CP had a crappy short season.

Yeah it was changed because Randy wasn't there and Culpepper actually had to make decisions and read d's. Their was no chunk it up there dog and I'll get it for a very overratted qb. Didn't Brad bring them out of the hole Pepper put them in and almost lead them to the playoffs just being picked-up in FA?

Uh, no, wrong.

Culpepper's best season(Let me lay out the statline- 379 of 548(69.2%), 39 touchdowns 11 ints, plus 406 yards, 2 tds, and 32 first downs rushing), was with Randy Moss either out or acting basically as a decoy for 8 games. '

If you think Culpepper's 6 bad games in 2005 override his 8 great games in 2004 without Moss...well, you are an idiot. Sorry, but them's the breaks.

Drew Brees has had ONE career season with completion %'s better then Daunte Culpeppers average.

Since when do we judge someone who has been a star for 5 yrs in this league, by the first 5 games in a season?

It's unfortunate, but your just a DC hater.:tantrum:

I for one, like Brees, and would be happy if we got him, but it's not even debatable who is the better QB. DC is hands down. So you can keep judging DC based on those 5 or 6 games in 05', but remember, Bree's could come here and also have a bad year, or 5 or 6 games, and I bet nobody will be turning around and saying he sucks.

I can't stand these types of posts. Who are we to say one has "much more talent" than the other??? Both are extremely solid options for Miami. Just because you favor Culpepper, doesn't take anything away from Brees, he is equally as talented as Culpepper, he's just from a different mold....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Culpepper would be an awful choice for the team, Im shcoked Saban is even considering him. It would end all enthusiasm I have for the up coming season, knowing with a QB like Culppepper forget about winning any Super Bowls, the guy is not a winnier plain and simple. Yea he may have put up nice stats, but does anybody ehre really have any faith in him in a crunch time play-off game, no frakin way. How many late game drive has this guy lead, I remeber 0 of them. The guy is not a winning QB. NOOOOOOOOOO to culpper please no.

LOLOL... Moss missed 7 games that year, dawg.:goof: Then acted as a decoy for the last 5 games he did play in.
I'm telling you the more and more I read the non-sense, and your so un-football like reasons for not wanting Culpepper.. The more I back my HUGE post about Culpepper over Brees. I hope we DO get him, and since you hate the Florida native so much, maybe you can switch and be a Bucs fan or something.

I think Drew Brees is brilliant with the tools he does have, but the bottom line is.. Linehan's basic package, that Culpepper knows, thrived in, and has the tools for. Vs. Brees who'll have to adjust, will have time since he'll be in all the mini camps, but.. He tore his labrum (shoulder).. and injured his rotator cuff. I can vouch for that injury since it happened to me. I had a cannon before it. It got better for maybe a year or three( about 75%). Then it starts to act up again. I know I don't have Dr. Andrews in my corner to do his magic on me, but I do know that at that position, and in our system. Arm stength is so much more important than his mobility which is Daunte's single flaw (until he's fully recovered and able to run folk over again).
Don't tell me that the man can't read defenses. The people who are still holding on to that really have no idea of what they are talking about.

Boy, your arguments show almost a fascinating ignorance of football.
