Culpepper to Oakland ???

The Chiefs already made it public they won't trade Trent Green to any AFC team. With Jamarcus Russell already available to the Raiders I don't think they would make the trade. However, if they absolutely love Calvin Johnson, then a trade could be made, but i would ask for AT LEAST two first day draft picks, their 2nd and 3rd.

If they use their 1st day picks on a CENTER, then the deal is absolutely meaningless. The should use any acquired picks on skill position players.

This is completely speculation however and 95% won't happen.

AFC Team or AFC West Team????

Why would they give a 2nd round pick for Culpepper when the have their choice of Quinn or Russel with the first pick of the draft. Are you thinking that would pick QB's with their first two picks? Or do you think that they don't pick a QB with the first pick? Both options seem dumb to me.

Actually, as I think about this, it does make sense to me for the Raiders to do this if and only if Culpepper's knee can be medically certified to be healed.

As many people have said, Russell is a rookie version of Culpepper. Al has the choice of drafting a rookie QB to groom for several years while listening to Moss, et al, whine OR he could have Culpepper throwing deep to Calvin Johnson. Which do you think would improve the Raiders the quickest?

i doubt we could get a 2nd but i still go through with the trade for a 3rd.

I can see Al Davis jumping on this trade and picking Thomas with their 1st. However, I have no hopes of anything higher than a 3rd for CP.

I could see a 3rd and a conditional pick next year depending on how Culpepper plays.

As much of a freak of nature Russell is, he does have his negatives. It wouldn't shock me if Al Davis preferred Calvin Johnson.

I would love this to happen. love love love. this would throw off everyones board and make for another exciting draft (hopefully for us this year aswell)

I doubt seriously that Davis would choose a QB that may or may not come back from a horrific injury and regain the status he once had over Russell or even Quinn.

Even if CPep comes back this year with a vengeance, which is entirely possible, he's only really good for another 3-4 yrs before his skills start to erode, whereas Russell is good for 10 yrs. There is always the question of whether Russell or Quinn are true franchise QBs, but if Davis doesn't want to take a QB, he may even trade down.

And them giving up their 2nd rounder, which is pick #33, virtually a first rounder...I just don't see. Given CPeps situation, at best we might get their 3rd rounder and we may have to give them some sort of conditional pick next year to even make that happen. I see any trade with CPep having a conditional pick attached to it...with anyone, not just the Raiders.

While it's well known that Davis doesn't like to take QBs high in the draft, given their situation, how can he not break that rule this year ?? I just see this as a pipe dream for us...

We are destined to use CPep this year just because of what we gave up for him. That is the fiscally responsible thing to do, even tho Cam and Randy weren't calling the shots last year. I don't personally think that's a bad thing. Some people on this board have given up hope on CPep with no real cause, except that they may have been on the Brees bandwagon last year. Anyone who uses the 4 games that CPep played in for us last year as a yardstick is pretty near-sighted.

All that said, this is Cam's team now and it should surprise none if CPep is gone soon. After all, no QB is going to be successful unless we get some OL to line up in front of him. Based on the moves he made so far, seeing Cpep, Lemon, Green, Carr, Quinn, Stanton or whoever next season wouldn't shock at all...

if you were part of the raiders organization, would you make that trade????

If I were the Raiders I'd offer a 4th rd pick for DC, then I'd go out and draft CJ. Not exactly a recipe for a championship, but it would fill the seats.

Daunte Culpepper is a has been. The coaching staff knows it and now the fans are finally coming to their senses and starting to realize it.

Does anyone out there believe we could send Culpepper to Oakland for their 2nd ? Everyone knows that Oakland is looking for an experienced QB; and that Al Davis loves the "Big Armed QB". With Oakland's high interest in Trent Green, Do you believe that we could leverage this into a trade with Oakland? We could use their 2nd to get someone like Ryan Khalil.

Thoughts?

If Oakland didn't want to trade a 2nd rounder last year for Culpepper, why would they want to now? They won't send anything more than a 4th or 5th rounder if we're lucky. If Oakland would let us screw them the way we let Minnesota did, I'm all for it.
