Anyone who thinks Daunte is worse than Joey is insane. First off, Daunte is a running threat, joey is not. Daunte has the strongest arm in the game, Joey does not. Daunte has playoff, probowl, and winning experience, all three of those Joey does not have. Regardless of what I see in the preseason, I know from the real games that these two have played that Daunte is a much better player. Do any of you honestly think Mularkey is going pull out the deep ball with Daunte on a consistant basis in the preseason? First play of the game Daunte to Chambers 50-yard bomb. You shall see Mularkey is going to pull out the playbook in the regular season. Joey is a deer in the headlights when the game's on the line. That's the only consistant thing out of him in his career. Daunte is the man and we know there is no way he doesn't start the first week. As he said on TV tonight "of course I'll be ready."

At first I do have to admit that I wanted to see Joey with the first teamers to see what he has to offer....And I am glad he came out in the second half and played well with those guys....But the offense looks like they are playing at a much quicker pace when Daunte is in at QB....But I am happy to know that we have Harrington as the back up....

Agreed. Besides that - Pep is the one that walks onto the field that the other players trust - he brought with him a high level of respectability. Joey is still an unknown to the players - they heard the stories about him in Detroit and until they play in a meaningful game with him, there is still that doubt. I'm sure they have been gaining respect for Joey, but Pep commands respect. Anyone think Hadnot would have defended Joey like he did Pep?

agreed... im just glad were so much more of an upgraded team at qb this year than pasts... both starter and backup.

yea daunte ruuning is a threat to himself...personally i like a slow methodical offense....i think joey has more zip on his passes...i like pocket passers....give me harrington!

Pepper should be and will be the starter but if anything happens to him I don't see us losing very much if anything with Harrington coming in.

Knock on the guy has never been physical skills, it's been mental skills.

Knocks have been poor decisions and that he gets very rattled under pressure.

Harrington has so far shown he can overcome all of that now that he's in a good system with a good team. His decisions have been good and I've seen him pressured many times where he stood in the pocket poised and made a good throw with a guy just about to hit him.

Good problem to have with 2 guys very capable of being the starter. IMO we should'nt be ripping either and just be damn happy with the situation.

i agree with everything you said. Joey's role on this team is to be a damn good backup in case something bad happens (i don't even want to say it). I'm glad Joey is good enough to strike up these kind of debates. Daunte is the man and will be carrying a huge weight on his shoulder this season. There are some HUGE expectations from him this year, and I'm confident he will return to the Pro Bowl.

It's kind of funny how Saban was able to bring in a backup who is better than any starter Wannsted ever had.

I'm glad to see Joey have success. I know he had some drops, but I still would want his passing % to be a little higher. He's completing in the mid 50s. Daunte is completing an insane 73% of his passes. We have a clear cut starter, but it's good to have a backup with Joey's experience.
