After reading his comments with ESPN and how he spoke about being ready opening day, no doubt with a ****y swagger. He then later spoke of doubt saying well there is no time table when ill be 100 percent but we are just going to work at it.

What these whole events tell me is that this is not a matter of his knee being ready, there is no doubt that daunte culpepper will be on that field winning games for us, but what these articles (herald and espn) is that he went from being a me guy to a we guy, i believe that the dolphins organization told culpepper what to say before his press conference with the dolphins. This goes back to the patriots mentalty where its shut up and work and let your play do the talking. In minnesota culpepper was the man, here he can just be another piece of our puzzle and i think he finally gets it between those articles. :dolphins:

Or, Nick Saban has taught Daunte the magic of the smokescreen.

But profootballtalk says that Saban is mad that Daunte isn't talking like that anymore.

Ok, Ok, We all need to stop looking into this like its a big deal. He said she said. If Daunte is ready for the opener he will be and, well we might not even know till then. I'm sure Saban will but thats fine by me. I guess my point is, let what is going to happen, happen. Good Lord people its the 16th of April not the Opening Day in September. We have not even had the draft yet. It's been too quiet around Dolphin Land and everyone is starting to panic because the Arringtion / Harrington news is getting old. Let time sort things out. I dont think he has to be 100% to be ready for opening day.....

Maybe not, but I want him to be pretty darn close to 100% before he plays. I don't want him to risk getting hurt even worse if he comes back too soon. Daunte is our QB for the next 5-7 years, not just 2006 so we need to look at the big picture and not rush him too much.

I think he could be ready for week 1, but I see him taking the field for the first time in Week 5 or so.

I totally agree, Its just so hard though becuase it would be sooo awsome to have him for our opener on national tv. what a way to start out on a bang if he could play. what ifs, but im glad we finally have our qb. It just worries me that if he does come back week 5 like you say, depending on our situation and how our backup does, our season could maybe be over or close to it and then we are looking towards next year again. Our backup qb is very very important for this team right now, heres to hoping MIllen wisens up or heres to the fins patience on waiting it out until his release in June.

5 months should be plenty of time to get his knee healed...it just may take a little more than that to get him game ready for the NFL....at least they are creating big penalties for anyone who hits the QB low...maybe this will help prevent the kind of injuries that sidelined Culpepper, Carson Palmer and Brian Griese last year. :rolleyes2

A hick from WVA, and a negative ignorant moron that doesn't even know half the players names when he speaks about them says it then it must be true. This site is known to throw garbage up and every once inawhile something is true and sticks.

I don't know alot about recovery time from knee injuries or whether or not Culpepper will be back by the season opener, i'm not a doctor. I do know one thing though, Saban WILL be ready, Culpepper or no Culpepper. Remember what happened the last time Saban had this much time to prepare for a game.....We stomped the Denver Broncos 34-10!!! And I'm not too conserned about our 2nd string QB, I think it will work itself out after the draft. Patience...

I got to see Daunte's last game at UCF. A true show on his part. The guy is incredible. Let's not forget, he has awesome numbers in the NFL as well! (despite the complete loss of talent on the Vikes last year). Let Nick sort out the details, and then we'll see. Coach is no dummy. We probably have the best coaching staff ever assembled, and I am sure they talk amongst themselves just a bit. It'll all come out in the wash...not to worry...The Dolphins are Back!

and Sean Salisbury is still a knob...

Just for future reference.. when you want to quote a post all you have to do is click the "Quote" icon on the bottom right of whatever post you are looking to quote.

Anyway, I agree with you. I believe we should just let our coaching staff handle this and we'll be fine.
