Clearly Culpepper played well, his stats say so. Very accurate, great decision maker and he played at a high level.

This is proof of how stats don't always indicate performance.

So please stop quoting his career completion percentage and talking about how accurate he is.
Please don't tell me how he is such a great 4th Quarter QB because his ratings say so.
Please stop calling me a hater, a fairweather fan or an idiot for questioning his ability when he has such great stats.

Most of all please stop using the Culpepper Manifesto as gospel and refering to it as "proof" that he is a great QB.

Stats aren't sports and most of all they don't always indicate performance.

Stats certainly don't tell the whole story in this game!

Pretty easy to rack up a 72% completion rate when you're average yard per completion is about 10...including YAC!

Don't crucify him yet. He might be sucking right now, but give him a couple more games. He has much more of an upside then any of our other qb's.

If he didn't throw that interception when they were on the goal line we would have won that game.

It was just that CPep made timely mistakes at bad points. The INT was HUGE because it cost us points and it also hurts everyone mentally.

Totally agree, but I just wanted to see some better decision making out of him. Especially considering his experience, he just played dumb football and that contributed to the loss more than anything.

I guess I should say I am not crucifying him yet. I was always a Culpepper basher in Minnesota. Then when I found out he was going to Miami I was opposed to it. But after awhile I tried warming up to the idea.

But everyone I ever tried bringing up valid points to always just refered to his stats. This thread is directed as an example of how stats don't always tell the story.

Don't spin it. He had his stats go up during garbage time. He should've been slinging that ball like he did in garbage time early in the game. Don't know if that was his fault or Mularkeys.

They aren't making calls that fit C-Peps throwing style and they need to start doing that.

If stats don't indicate 'individual' performance, then what does and why do they keep them? That is the point of us pointing out Daunte's individual passing stats. Of course stats don't always tell the whole story, especially when you are talking about whether a TEAM won or lost a game. When we show things like a high completion percentage and passer rating, those are things that have accumulated over his career that suggest he has played at a high level for at least a good amount of time he has been on the field. Individual stats are the things that don't tell the whole story. You can't just look at a couple of them and point to those as a reason why a team won or lost. There are way too many factors that decide a football game to look simply at what the QB did and then make a judgement based on his performance as to whether or not he is the reason the team performed as they did.

the answer to our problems on offense is simple...................mularkey needs to leave the booth put him right next to nick just like nick did last yr and the probs on offense go away.Bet it happens soon:shakeno:

That will happen soon, but I dont know if that will solve it. Mularky wont get mcmike involved and he gives up on the run WAY too easily.
