Culture

I know what you meant, but even when you run a team a certain way, if you get the right type of people, it tends to bring more toughness to your team.

Example: If Miami got 2 to 4 O-Linemen with the mindset of Richie Incognito, would you still think the line is soft?

If you got a RB with size that had the mentality to give punishment as much as he received it, would you call the running game soft?

If you got D-Players like Ronnie Lott, and Ray Lewis on your Defense, would you call the defense soft?

And before you say that Miami does not get those types of players because that is the type of team they want to keep, to that I say, exactly my point.

Does not matter what type of Offense and Defense you are running, if the staff brought in more tough guys, all of a sudden Miami would not be so soft.

You change the Offense and Defense to be more aggressive, or you start trying to toughen them up, it might work, it might not, but you bring in legit tough mofo...That will change the culture of the team instantly.
i disagree. both things matter. the type of players you have, and the culture. you bring in tough guys, if the culture is soft there is only so much they can do. see last year. did calais campbell make the thing not soft even though he is tough? nope. only so much you can do. both things are important. this post was about the culture side. you need both, we have neither, and thusly are a soft as puppy poo team that likes boats and beer and golf and love handles and hoodies and sneakers and sunglasses and watches and cell phones and playstations more than football.

One person is not going to change anything, and someone like Calais Campbell is not going to change anything.

I am talking about making the team less soft, but still keep the finesse, outsmart, out play the other team like the 1980s 49ers that had players like Ronnie Lott, but we're more soft then tough, but not turning them into a team of toughguys.

If what you want it a team of tough guys, then you have to change the HC and coaching staff. Right now, I don't to see if we get the earlier McD ((With hopefully better time management) or the failure we saw last year.

I guess we disagree here, I just want to toughen them up a bit more, while still beating teams with creativity, and talent over just pure power and aggressiveness.

ok so your endorse the soft culture but you want tougher players in the soft culture and you think the culture is just fine. well you are entitled to your opinion. although you have boxed yourself in because as a tua fan, he is certainly NOT what you are describing in terms of the players you want. and the type of players you want do not fit well with the type of play you seem to want. your whole perspective seems inconsistent in my view

1st off, I am not endorsing the soft culture, I am endorsing make the best with what you have if you think there is a chance it could get the job done.

If our HC was an old school, grind it out, tough minded individual, then I would be in for getting psychos, tough guys that can play, but our coaching is more finesse then a hardnose type coach, so continue with what they do best, but bring a bit more toughness to the team with players of that mentality.

You are aware that teams have won SBs with the hardnosed, toughguy type mentality, and teams have won with the finesse, out-play, and out-smart mentality, right?

You don't attempt to put a round peg inside a square hole, just like you don't try to make McDaniel coach a more hardnosed type game....Won't work very well.

2nd, I do have confidence in Tua, but as I have said countless times, he needs to stop the toughguy, hardnosed play and risk getting hurt. I want a tough O-Line that protects and blocks with blood in their eyes, I want a powerback that will get those tough yards, and though I want.a smart defense, a little more toughness would not hurt.

Oh and if McD again looks like last year, then bring in a tough minded HC, after McD is fired, I have no problem with that as long as he is good at his job.

Cool. Conversation was about development. Tom Brady had already won a Super Bowl and was a top 3 qb in the league by the time Mcdaniels ever sniffed Brady but you must of missed that fact
Maybe his nosed was clogged with dead brain cells. - LOL
