If some of you recall, I made a thread called "Wanstetd poll" located here ------>http://www.finheaven.com/boardvb2/showthread.php?t=48461 ... anyway, I noticed there is more of us Wanny haters now more than ever before and you can say the jury is out :judge: ...Most Fin Fans now have turned against Wanstetd ...
...and I was just curious to know what does it take for you that still support Wanstetd to finally change your mind about Wanny?? Another missed playoff season?? A worse season then last year?? A .500 season?? A losing season?? A Winless season?? :confused2

I'd also like to know, What is it that makes you still believe he is a good coach or makes you support him?? Do you still believe it's the players fault?? All of Front Office's fault (not just Wanny's)?? Do you just support him because you feel you have to (being he is our coach)?? :confused2

Any input from you fellow finfan Wanny supporters would be appreciated...I couldve made this thread a poll, but i really wanted to hear your input instead...

:gossip:

they will not answer you. you should have seen the rigged "Trial" for dave they held. The website is here to build and stretch and grow and foster and mantain and squeeze every little drop of support they can from the fan base. so dissension is ignored or frowned on. i do wonder what the posts would look like around here for a near winless season. as lifelong fan, i want to effect real change in the way this team is run now. the only things i can do are not spend money and express this opinion as much as possible.

I'm a Wanny supporter and proud of it. At the end of last season, I wanted him back as our coach. By the same token, I said if we don't make the playoffs, he must go. He hasn't done much lately but I bet you guys that are Wanny haters we're also Jimmy lovers who accomplished less for the dolphins than Wanny. JJ was a decent talent evaluator (although his JJ Johnson, John Avery, Yatil Green, and Dorian Brew picks make you wonder) but he didn't do much for us on the field. The guy was living on his reputation with the cowboys which if it wasn't for Herschell Walker, he wouldn't have a reputation.

These guys were good when they came out of college footbal.
They knew the young players coming from college.
JJ was useless after Dallas and brought Wanny down, come to think of it JJ was a quitter just like Ricky.

Wanny is so hated by some that he's in a no-win situation. If the Dolphins win, some say we win in spite of Wanny not because of Wanny. If we lose, it's Wanny's fault. It can't be both. Do I think Wanny is the best? No. Do I think he's the worst? NO. I think so many of us hate him because he looks dumb and many times sounds dumb (sounds like our president huh?) but that doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't know how to coach.

Why was it that when Jimmy was here and underachieved everybody blamed it on the fact that we had no running game? Isn't that what he was here to bring? Did we ever get out of the 2nd round of the playoffs with JJ? Even with our beloved Dan Marino this team didn't get the job done. Nobody ever blamed JJ. It was always that we needed this or that but it was never JJ's fault. The guy came in guaranteeing all kinds of sh*t and didn't deliver at all. Wanny didn't guarantee anything yet we were able to win the division under his leadership. I know, that's a long time ago but I have said it's playoffs or he's fired. Some of us would blow a load if they brought in a Nick Saban but how do we know he won't be another Butch Davis? Butch has a similar if not a better resume than Saban and he's struggled as a HC. Nothing is guaranteed.

I think he partly quit because of his mother dying and also because he had to much pride in admitting he couldn't deliver all he promised and decided to quit to save face. I think that is one of the biggest reasons we'll never see him as a coach.

Hypothetically, what would all of you Wanny haters do if we somehow, miraculously get into the playoffs and make it past the 2nd round of the playoffs? Would you still say that the players are responsible or would you give the coach a break for once?

JJ got us ZT, JT, pat and sam.

that will depend on the situation & how he coaches. i dont like him because he is so ultra-conservative, stubborn, predictable & isnt a motivator nor a displinarian. we need a motivator & displinarian on this team. when was there a time that Wanny thought out of the box?

i hate to admit it but if we get to the play-offs this yr, his *** would be saved. which is too bad, since we only prolonging it. sooner or later Wanny gonna get canned.

my 2 cents.

I selected undecided on your poll not because I am a Wanny supporter (I really was hoping he would get the axe after last season), but because he has been put in a unique position of coaching a team clouded with controversy, injuries, and untimely retirements, and having a chance to take them to the playoffs. Fact is, if the Phins do make the playoffs this year you can pretty much consider Wanny a lock to win Coach of the Year. And since many people on this site including myself still believe that Dolphins have an outside chance of making a run at the playoffs, its my opinion that we might as well reserve our judgement until the end of the season.

what's more important his team philosophy or his team's results? If we made it at least to the AFC Championship game you would still want him to get the axe if his ultra-conservative style got us there?

I support Dave as the coach. He's not gonna be the coach of this team next season, but If we have Ricky Williams it's a totally different scenario. Part of the reason I believe Dave was brought back was this team was seen as a SB contender with RW. Now if we knew he wasn't coming back at the end of last season, I'm sure they would've brought in a new coach.

DW would be conservative this year and probably wants to.............the reason why that will/(if) change is b/c of his coaching staff kickin in his ear that they have to open up the field............if he passes more, he wont be happy.........

Wanny will defined by the choice he made at QB. Namely having Jay Fiedler here starting for four years. Having a consistent, good QB would have made Ricky Williams that much better and been enough to get us to, and win, a Super Bowl.

Wanny seems to have a mental block when it comes to choosing a QB. How he could ever trade for Rick Mirer, then keep Jay for so long? :shakeno: With a real GM, I think Dave could be a competent coach though. He is vanilla, but with the right players that can work.

I think it is time to see him depart though. Unless we get into the playoffs then Wanny needs to be gone and another approach taken.
