News are slow coming in cause of the offseason so I decided to make a thread. I have been thinking about this for A WHILE but what has happened to former Center Jake Grove??? I know that he was injured and was released but when he played are offensive line were ranked up there with the best even though it was for 1 season......Do anybody have any update on his current situation, did he take the money and decided to retire without official notice????

He never played again after that year with us. Nagging injuries definitely a factor.

yea I know but he seem to disappear completely besides some work outs he did but I haven't heard a thing

He was out of the NFL a year later. Way to go Fraudcells.

Well the center everyone wanted Jason Brown from the Ravens went to the Rams and never really amounted to anything either. He had one maybe two good season and became a terrible and over paid center. Either way these were the 2 centers available that offseason and neither panned out.

He reportedly worked out for the Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions, and New England Patriots, but did not sign with another team, and is still a free agent.[5]

We should have never signed this guy to begin with.

When healthy, he was a very physical center.

He and Smiley were both really good and really injured.

Those 2 are 2 good reasons why I hate that now we are getting often injured players. It worked out great last year with, our probowl CB, Grimes but we're taking too many chances with players with history of injuries. I guess we'll see.....Ant lets hope for the best!

Yes they were. But, that was a very good OL built on the shoulders of those two excellent linemen.

It was weird both guys caved at once and we stopped hearing about either of them. It's like both went from Pro-Bowl contending starters to out of the league with the snap of fingers. Neither sounded like career ending injuries, but I guess they both were.

Our track record drafting and signing oline players is beyond dismal over the last 10 years
