Been away from the site for a bit while it was down, have not kept up with who's gone and who's new, could someone breakdown the current roster including FA's? Do we still have Holliday? a replacement for Zack(if thats possible) etc...

FA signings so far:
Defense

DT - Jason Ferguson (Cowboys)-good only gave up next years 6th and swapped this years 6th
DT - Randy Starks (Titans)-good signing
LB - Reggie Torbor (Giants)-good signing
LB - Charlie Anderson (Texans)

Offense

WR Ernest Wilford (Jaguars)-i like this FA
QB Josh McCown (Raiders)-not bad to battle beck
G Justin Smiley (49ers)-good signing
TE Sean Ryan (Jets)
WR David Kircus (Broncos)

Rumored to Sign

LB Calvin Pace (i hope-close to signing)
RB Michael Turner (doubt)
WR Javon Walker (i hope)
FS Eugene Wilson(i hope)
LB Ian Gold
G Jason Fabini (always need O line)
FS Marlon McCree (i like)
LB Darryl Blackstock
Holliday is still on roster

ive seen a bunch of the signings but have no idea where things stand now with our unrestricted free agents and cuts, a grand summary of the squad would be helpful... thought there would be a sticky thread for that....

hmmm heres a possible look at what I think the depth chart might look like as of today, with a few pending signings.

QB:
*Josh McCown (Obviously there will be a camp battle between beck and McCown, we will get to see if Beck is the real deal or not)
John Beck
Casey Bramlet

RB:
Ronnie Brown
Ricky Williams
LoBo
Patrick Cobbs
No thanks to chatman or gado, but if one resigns i would rather it be chatman

FB:
Reagan Mauia

WR:
*Ernest Wilford
Ted Ginn
^Keyshawn?
Derek Hagan
Camarillo
*David Kircus
Personally, I think the Javon Walker rumors are a little farfetched, but if he could come in, he would be an instant contributor if he stays healthy

TE:
David Martin / Justin Peele (both are still signed right?)
*Sean Ryan

OT:
Vernon Carey
Julius Wilson
Obviously we will be looking for another Tackle somewhere.

OG:
*Justin Smiley
^Jason Fabini
Drew Mormino

C:
Satele

DT:
*Jason Ferguson
*Randy Starks (More likely to be used as an end in the 3-4 with Ferguson as our stop gap in the middle)
Vonnie Holliday (Makes you wonder where Vonnie fits with the two new DT signings, maybe he'd be better suited as a DE in the 3-4 anyways... could that mean that JT is more expandable? or Vonnie is on the outs? Either way, there is too much depth here to pay Vonnie his money and not find another use for him, could also mean Roth is expandable, obviously still a lot of deciding to be done on this fresh new DLine)
Paul Soliai
Fifita
Chase Page

DE:
Jason Taylor (more likely to be used as OLB in 3-4)
Matt Roth (However I think Moses has a chance of earning this spot, most likely someone else will be brought in, Chris Long anyone?).
Quentin Moses (finally showed he was worth that 3rd round pick at the end of the year.)
Rod Wright (I think he is better suited at DE in the 3-4, especially with the abundance of tackles, I really like Rod Wright and hope he finds a way onto the field somehow)

MLB:
Channing Crowder
*Reggie Torbor (Filled in very nicely for the Giants on the outside in the 4-3, but i read he is projected on the inside in the 3-4, he'll have to adjust)
*Charlie Anderson
Edmund Miles?

OLB:
Joey Porter
^Calvin Pace (I hope personally)
Abe Wright
Kelvin Smith

CB
Will Allen
Michael Lehan
Andre Goodman
Travis Daniels

S
Jason Allen
^Eugene Wilson
^Yeremiah Bell (i am having doubts we will resign him, but he could probably be had for cheap coming off his injury)
Renaldo Hill
Cameron Worrell
Courtney Bryan

K
Jay Feeley

P
Brandon Fields

* = New Aquisition
^ = Possible Signees

Mmm deffinitely some productive and interesting moves in the first day, but certainly still a lot of work to be done. The draft is gonna be really interesting because we will likely be able to draft for value rather than needs if BP and crew keep picking up young reliable players like they have so far to fill holes.

meh, it's rumored that he wants to come back to football and play for parcells, but again... its just rumor. It was also mentioned that maybe he could play TE? that would be nice to have him on the field with our recievers, it'd really open things up if safeties had to worry about keyshawn in the seam. Someone else said he is expected to make a decision come mid march.

idk i just think that ur depth chart is taking little advantage of our pick ups. starks will play de in the 3-4. chris long cant play de in an nfl 3-4. the other de idk? mabey roth, mabey holliday. whoever it is i like the depth. im a big fan of not having keyshawn. our secondary rele sucks after looking at this and our offensive line is a lot worse than i expected. i am stuck when it comes to the draft, i think jake long looks pretty good, now also mabey ellis or dorsey (although against it) might look nice as a 3-4 de. jake long is a beast but idk how much beastier he is than a 2nd round t. if im the gm, just so all u guys no im not, picks go-
1-jake long, mabey not right pick but wont hurt us
2-brandon flowers-steal at this juncture, realy helps team out
2-chilo rachal- great gaurd can realy bulk line.
3-erin henderson- realy like this kid as a great mlb
if there is a mid 2nd round pick in compensation for j tay mabey flacco somewhere in there but i would be happy keeping him and wiht there pick
thoguhts?

yea, for most of the players i put them what their current 'job title' is... not really where they project to play, hence JT @ DE... even though we now know he won't be here. And with that, I have to hope that the pick is Chris Long, the kid is dominating and would be an instant replacement for JT for years to come. I wouldn't be upset with Jake Long at all either, but apparently this is a deep draft in tackles. It may be a gamble though to trust the oh so important LT position with a 2nd or 3rd rounder compared to having Jake Long who is likely capable of starting from day 1.
