According to ESPN's NFL Countdown, Curtis Martin has been officially announced as Out For The Season according to N.Y. Jets Coach Herm Edwards. Martin finishes the season with 220 Att, 735 Yards, 3.3 Avg with 5 TD and this breaks his NFL Record tie with 10 strait seasons with 1000 or more yards.
 
even though he's a jet Curtis is one heck of a class act and i hope he gets better, maybe not 100% but better

I agree. One of my favorite backs in the league. I really wanted him to hit 1000 yards this season. :(
 
As much as I can't stand the Jets, you never want to see a player go out for the year. Martin always plays with class.
 
Martin is a good player I just cant stand him b/c of that 8(?) game win streak the Jets had on us.
 
Another big loss for the Jets. It's a shame to see his 1000 yard streak end like this. Hopefully he can return to form next year, unless he's playing the Dolphins that is.
 
Sad to see something like this happen to such a great well class guy. I hope that he heals from it and be ready to play next season. This is a hugh lost for the Jets, but it didn't seem like it in today's win against the Raiders.
 
He will be missed and a shame his career has to end like this.

Not good news for us fin fans if we get to the point where we are rooting for the Jets to beat the Pats in a week and a half
 
Martin wasnt too effective this year, so it's not THAT big of a loss. Hopefully, someone will step up in that game.

I think he has as good a shot as C-Mart would have had...he didn't look as solid as he did last year...
