if we cut D. bowens. and D.thompson we will save 3 million and free up money to sign law.and schulters...what do you folks thinks?

I disagree strongly

Bowens actually looked very good according to reports from mini camp. Thompson I would be more open to discussing, but I think Bowens may be an asset.

I would love to have both players, but use good business sense as well.

Lets just make sure Boston is 100% before we cut Thompson. I don't want to be in the same mess we were last August.

Keep Thompson Like Nub said, however Bowens has never lived up to his expectations as far as I am concerned. I would be willing to cut him, and sign Shulters.

I agree with cutting Thompson, he made that great catch againstg N.E but other than that he's been a disappointment. I think Bryan Gilmore is better than Thompson, or would be a better 4th wideout than Thompson. He did a pretty nice job, filling in for Chambers when he was out aginst the jets, at home. I think he played pretty well last season, and could do well as a 4th. He could stretch the field on plays with 4 wide, with his speed, too.

I dont want Law. Only because I think hell jsut be a 1 year deal. His injuries will limit him to playin time next year for sure n e way.

it was stated on this websites front page recently that howard has refused to rework his deal

The words "cut Thompson" are too exciting to describe. If you had followed with "cut Chester" I might have needed to place books on my lap like in junior high.

I'm all for it.

I don't think we need to be secure about boston's situation before cutting Thompson. We have depth. I'd rather giving young guys as newson, gilmore, welker and davis, chances for the 3rd,4th and 5th WR spots. And we would be taking a potential starter S/CB over a 3rd (at best) receiver.

As for bowens, I like him though I guess he's not a lock to stay bc of HIS salary cap status. Again,we would be taking a potential starter S/CB over a solid backup DE. I'm fine with taylor, roth, holliday, flemons, carter can play there...and there are some 4 or 5 other young DE in camp trying to make the roster, I believe we'll find out one worth to keep, out of this "no name" group.

As for Law,it's fine having him for only a year. Poole is the future at CB anyways.

I'm all for it.

Cut Chester? Dude...we have no defensive tackles as it is. Not the most brilliant suggestion in my opinion.

yep but we can't affor to cut him because of the cap penalty

hey why don't we cut traylor as well ? :shakeno:

Reasons why We Have to keep Thompson!!!

1. we will run 4 wr sets CC, Booker, Boston, Thompson/Gilmore
if any of these 4 get hurt we have Gilmore/Thompson
We have to have 4 quality wr's for this offense
2. Welker is like a Steve Tasker he is a great special teams player but only an
ok wr.
3. Newson has alot of promise but he is too inconsitent.

4. Davis shows promise as well but he is unproven.

So if you get rid of Thompson and any one of the top 3 get hurt your left with Gilmore who i think can be very good but he did get cut by the Cardinals, an inconsistent newson, a life special teamer, and an unproven davis for the 3 and 4 spots.

As for Bowens he will fit the 3-4 perfect and we need him for our d-line rotation.

I dont want a ty law that may not come back strong. ( a waste of money)
But Schulters would be a good addition.

Dont we have enough under the cap to sign him?

Message I already posted, just too lazy to type another similar post:

He has shown more than Thompson in his few starts than a whole season and more of Thompson
