I"m watching the giants game and eli is making some dynamic throws down the field with his receivers routinely!( 10, 15, 20 yards) and guess what there "open" by 1 or 2 yards! thats what open means in the nfl! And yes hes getting some pressure( qb hurries etc!). An some of you wanna make excuses for Pennington, "no ones open" give me a F****ing break! the entire game not one receiver is open by NFL standards on any series where the OL held there blocks? come on? He's probably our best chance of winning games now! but his inability or in-something, is holding this team back! he does not! have all the tools!( a qb must be able to make throws anywhere on a NFL field with people open 1 - 3 yards), the game is too difficult if you can only threaten within 10 yards! Enough of this! where not gonna see a Superbowl now! Put in henne or white whatever let them go through their growing pains now so that in the end we can have a real threat of a QB! that scares the hell outta you! seriously does Pennington scare any defense? Think about it every QB that is considered Dangerous can make you pay in a second if you give their receiver 1 or 2 yards? what about Pennington can he make any team pay? dinking and douking requires too many attempts, everything must always go just right... its only a matter of time B4 a mistake! A TEAM must have some sort of Quick strike possibility!!!

the knock on penny is that he cant get it down field.
tight spaces Penny has. he is percentage wise the most accurate qb ever. When going down field he always gets the wr to come and grab the ball. this isnt about anyone being open by a mile, we all know penny is accurate, prob equal or more accurate than eli. the knock is his arm strength so when they are open by a mile is when he cant get it to them...so wtf are u talking about.

Fact: Pennington completed 67% of his passes last year and led a 1-15 team to a playoff birth
Fact: Pennington has Ginn, Bess, and Camarillo to throw to. Not the worst unit in the league, but hardly stellar, and aside from Bess, I saw little from the WR core today to help out a QB in duress.
Fact: Pennington was not at fault for two turnovers from Fasano today.
Fact: Penny struggles with the deep ball, a problem made all the worse by an OL incapable of pass blocking.
Fact: Penny's fumble was on him. Stupid mistake.
Fact: Penny's pick also is on him, but when you can't run and can't get protection and are down that far, every QB will try and force things.
Fact: Pat White and Chad Henne are unproven. Perhaps they have moxie, perhaps not, but I don't believe they have the leadership to take this team past today's hideous performance. Who would you start, Ronnie Brown?
This loss was tough. Really tough. Everyone but Bess, Merling, and possibly Camarillo had a terrible outing. This doesn't mean you suddenly bench the QB who got you where you were last year.

You are 100% incorrect. The biggest problem pennington has is fitting the ball into tight spaces. He can throw the deep ball just fine.
Why does MO have to be Dumb? MO was based on a few things
1) people assuming that none of our receivers get open!( such a lie!!)i was at a few games last year where ginn and others where open on patterns!(1-3 yards seperation) 10, 15 even 20 yards down field where pennington had the protection looked there way and said, "nawh thats too tight! and threw to R.B or R.W in the flats, 3 yard gain..maybe! those are the throws that make elite QBs!
why is it dumb to make the opinion that a QB that more times than not will consistently make that decision! is limiting his offense? how long until NFL defenses realize that and play within 10 yards of a passing offensive series?

What does his stats from last year matter today? Please tell me what in the world those stats have to do w/ today. I guess your right about the accuracy thing, he did go 21-29 yards today.
You want a FACT? In his last 2 games, Penny has thrown a total of 5 INTS.

This loss is square on the Oline today, Falcon Dlinemen were in Pennys face ALL DAY. I don't care who you are if you have no time to throw you are not accurate, recievers do not have the time to get out of their breaks to cause seperation which leads to sacks and int's. It's the first game and most here are ready to throw this team under the bus.
The defense played well today and limited the high powered Falcon offense to 19 points, not bad concidering a few drives started deep in fins side of the field. Yes it was depressing to see the performance they showed overall but no need to hit the panic button after only one game. Come on you a die hard fan or a fair weather fan..........

Understand even in a rebuild the goal is WINNING football games. Period. in their estimation Penny is the best chance to do just that... and the only way that will change is if Penny plays himself off the field in more than one game or Henne plays himself on, which he has not done.

i dislike how people are dogging on pennington. you are faithful fans but you are flippy floppy. ALL of you used to praise pennington now you are hating on him? come on now you need to have faith. you think carolina fans hate delhomme after the game against the cardinals last year? no they still have faith in him so you all need to shut up and i hope pennington has a phenomenal year so all of you hop on his bandwagon again.
Penny has a bad game now and then. Today, he could not get comfortable in the pocket because of the good pressue Atlanta put on us. He and the offense will bounce back.
The turnovers lost the game today. In my opinion, I agree that Penny has average QB physical skills. His release is not quick and he has limited velocity which causes him to rely on timing patterns. The defenses know this and try to jam the recievers to throw off the timing. The deep throws have alot of arc on them which allows the secondary to react and close on the reciever. But he is very experienced and knows how to play the game in a usually error free way.He can usually sense the pass rush and scramble out.
Chad Henne, in my observations at camp and in preseason, does not "feel" the pass rush very well. He would have been sacked 10 times today.
Like it or not, Pennington is our best chance for a winning season this year.

And Pennington was directly responsible for 2 of the turnovers today. He looked like a deer in headlights and has the weakest arm of any current NFL QB.

I cant believe i am hearing so much hate on Penny, Everyone stop and rewind 2 years ago when we were still having our yearly game of name that QB. Is everyone that greedy and ignorant? We have been hoping for a QB that can at least maintain our Offense and give us a fighting chance for YEARSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!...What happens next, we get Chad P. A QB that carried our ungrateful hides out of the gutter and into the playoffs. Nothing is ever good enough is it, just be thankful we dont have AJ feely, Culpepper, Rosenfelds, Lucas, Berlin, Beck, Lemon...shall i continue? Im sure the list can exceed word limit.
