Not surprised that a beat writer bashes our draft but his points are absolutely ridiculous. He compares each player to the game vs the Gators but pretty much blames our draft picks for the ENTIRE teams poor performance in those games. Then goes on to say we should have taken a QB, seeing as how we believe Tannehill there is no need for one. Then gets on late rd picks for ST value, hey George MOST late rd picks have to play ST to make teams. HOW is this guy paid to be a beat writer????
"Georgia tight end Arthur Lynch, a fifth-round pick by Miami, dropped what was supposed to be a screen pass against the Gators but it was ruled as a lateral instead. While Lynch was agonizing over the blown play, a Florida defender scooped the ball up and returned it far enough that the Gators soon had a touchdown, making a 23-20 Georgia win scarier.
First-round pick Ja’Wuan James’ performance for Tennessee in a 31-17 loss to the Gators is less memorable but it’s fair to say that the massive right tackle had a long afternoon. The Volunteers rushed for just 66 yards at the Swamp, and that’s 363 fewer than Georgia Southern managed later in the season.
Jarvis Landry, a wide receiver taken in the second round, did the best of them, catching four passes for 58 yards in LSU’s gritty 17-6 win over Florida. That, however, tied Landry’s season low for catches in a game."
