Daboll's system is hope of this season

The proof will be in the pudding. We will see. You guys think we're going to have a highly productive offense. That's great. I don't. If I were a betting man, I'm betting the under on 20.0 PPG.
The reality is that our offense was respectable between the 20's last season. I dont have any statistical evidence to back that up, thats what my eyes told me. It feels like our offense stalled inside the RZ(or around that area) often due to horrific playcalling(3rd and 8 RB draws, really?) and horrific QB decisions. I think Henne regressed last season because the staff/FO pulled in the reigns and went uber conservative the second Parcells drove off in that Brinks truck full of cash.

In 2010, the playcalling was horrific, and I believed the remaining staff ruined Henne. In 2011 I'm hoping Im wrong and that he isnt ruined but rather resurgent.

I don't think anybody said anything about a "highly productive offense." It was more along the lines of you're being a negative nancy based on statistics of parts of preseason games. While I share some of your concerns about the offensive line and rb in particular, there are definitely some positive signs from this offense to make us think there may be improvement from last year. Particularly with the starting QB.

I'll take 20 points a game. That's a 3 point per game increase and would have won several games we lost at the end last year.

Especially if the D holds them. We gave up 20 per game. Cut that to 15 and we're in the hunt.

It wasnt mularkey's theories. It was Saban's insistance that he run Linhans offense so he was handucffed here.

that was only 5 years ago, are the local sports writers this bad everywhere, or only in Miami?

There's so much hype going around about the Dolphins' offense right now. I think there's a loss of objectivity. If you really want to get ugly-yet-truthful, here are the Dolphins' 1st string offensive drives this preseason against 1st string defenses.

Falcons #1: Off Punt :: Started MIA 48 :: 0 Yds :: Interception
Falcons #2: Off Kick :: Started MIA 22 :: 5 Yds :: Punt
Falcons #3: Off Kick :: Started MIA 25 :: 0 Yds :: Interception
Panthers #1: Off Kick :: Started MIA 20 :: 36 Yds :: Punt
Panthers #2: Off Punt :: Started MIA 20 :: 80 Yds :: Touchdown
Panthers #3: Off Punt :: Started MIA 15 :: 44 Yds :: Turnover on Downs
Buccaneers #1: Off Punt :: Started MIA 23 :: 77 Yds :: Touchdown
Buccaneers #2: Off Punt :: Started MIA 13 :: -10 Yds :: Punt
Buccaneers #3: Off Punt :: Started MIA 12 :: 3 Yds :: Punt
Buccaneers #4: Off Kick :: Started MIA 20 :: 77 Yds :: Field Goal
Buccaneers #5: Off Punt :: Started MIA 25 :: 30 Yds :: Fumble
Buccaneers #6: Off Kick :: Started MIA 20 :: -1 Yds :: Punt
Buccaneers #7: Off Kick :: Started MIA 20 :: 9 Yds :: Punt

That's purely objective fact. The other drives were against opponents' 2nd stringers. A total of 13 drives. Average drive started at Miami's own 22 yard line. Average drive went 27 yards. Four of the drives ended with a turnover. There were a total of 17 points scored on these 13 drives.

This isn't a Chad Henne thing, I'm talking about the offense as a whole. Those are 13 drives against the 1st string defenses of the Falcons, Panthers and Buccaneers. Yes, we were minus Brandon Marshall and Reggie Bush for 3 of the drives, and minus Jake Long for all of them. But the Falcons, Panthers and Bucs held back plenty of starters as well. A normal game has less than 13 drives in it, usually around 10 or 11 drives. The Dolphins 1st string offense scored 17 points and had 4 turnovers on just over a game's worth of drives against 1st string defenses.

Is that really good? I don't think it is. That works out to about 270 to 296 yards per game, between 13 and 15 points per game, about 3 turnovers a game. We're supposed to be excited about that?

The only team we somewhat gameplanned for is Tampa Bay. No Jake Long. It's vanilla preseason footbal dude. Get over yourself and get a CLUE. Sorry you wasted your time putting all that BS together. Take care :-)

This is the same guy who ran the 30th offense in Cleveland, right? One of couple offenses worse than ours last year?

Oh.

I agree that the offense will suck, but your proof is flawed. Teams play different in the first quarter than they do in the 4th. The offense will not be good, but I don't think you can just take results from the first quarter of 3 games and then say that is what it will be for the season. The team may be better or it could be worse, but the preseason stats are close to meaningless.

Sorry but I agree 100% with CK. I know... everythig could happen, but from what I saw on the preseason, our OL is going to be a weak link (AGAIN), and unless we have an elite passing game (which I doubt), I don't see a reasonable possibility of having the offense some of you see. It will be a surprise to me if we finish top 15 on offense this year, that would mean our OL was "fixed", our running game was at least average and Henne did a good job on the turnover department. I really doubt those three are solved. But hey, "anything could happen"

On the first game I just hope Chatriots don't humilliate us to be honest.

It doesn't have to be highly productive. It just has to be productive. If we can finish in the top 15 we ll be fine with our defense. It seems you're going out of your way these days to be negative.

You may be right, we will all find out soon enough. However, surely you have to admit that you have seen some things out of the offense that have you far more optimistic in comparison to what we all saw out of our offense last year. And to be truthful....pessimistic at times watching our o-line. If our o-line just plays average this season our offense should be much improved over last years version IMO.
