Daily Reminder: God Bless the 1972 Miami Dolphins

Can you imagine the media coverage that team would get today? During that time period, ESPN, DirectTV, and NFL Network, among others, didn't exist.

You think fans are sick of New England, imagine a perfect team with today's media coverage.

One of the best dynasties that isn't talked about enough. Three super bowl appeances in a row, 32-2 over a two year stretch, 44-6-1 over three years.

A lot of posters here weren't even born yet. Hanging a hat on something that happened 50 years ago while records are broken every day by Brady..... K.

Looking forward to the Cardinals loss, and popping the cork early this year. 1972 team are absolute legends. The celebration should only get bigger each passing year. Give these men all the honor they deserve.
Just not this week. Need the Cardinals to beat the 49er's since we hold the niners first round pick.

man if im being honest, im tired of hearing about it the 72 undefeated team already. granted i wasn't alive when it happened but still, if we have to keep talking about the past, what does that say?
I agree, we are just holding on to the past. Sure it's a great accomplishment but we need to be a great team now. I wasn't even born back then and similarly future generations are not going to connect with it either. Let's focus on the now.

Nothing wrong with honoring past accomplishments and remembering history!

We are supposed to learn from it and not repeat mistakes!

This organization has missed on getting great quarterback after great quarterback following Marino!

And while there other factors that go into winning, no single factor is more important than the QB!

It is no mystery why this team was led by hall of famers at QB when we reached Superbowls!

This team no longer gets it right choosing QB’s….

I'm so glad I remember those teams. Those were my very first memories of pro football and why I became a Miami fan. I'll always have those times to look back on because they do help me try and deal with the **** show I'm seeing now.

Sorely missed and thoroughly enjoyed those years, esp 72 (I was 8). A great time where the Fins pissed standing up and left their diva at the door.
Telling my story.

Losing is a combination of factors, but the short list of quarterbacks Miami could have drafted is telling....Rodgers, Brees, Brady and Wilson. All will be in the HOF.

Sports are based on history and records without them what’s the point. You win SB and next year it means nothing it’s confined to meaningless history. This was snd still is one hell of an achievement snd our boys are the only ones who have ever managed it.

No question it’s an all time accomplishment. I’m just saying , it would be great to have something else to hang our hats on. And if we won a super bowl , yes many would forget -we wouldn’t though. That’s all that matters to me at the end of the day.

I attended every home game the 1972 and 1973 Dolphins played. So I will always have those memories but I would really love to see the fans who started following the team in the last 30 years experience the joy I experienced during those SB wins. Because I lived though the glory years, it has been easier for me to deal with the down years. But the fans of the last 30 years deserve so much more than this franchise have given them over all those years.

Wow. I'm jealous that you got to attend those games, but also happy for you. That must have been something. In those days, a 10-4 season was a disappointment.

Agree, the fan base that missed that needs a championship or more to hang their hats on.

I understand your view but many teams have won the SB including us but we are the only team to have that unbeaten SB run. So it never becomes unimportant until another team matches it. 48 years snd counting. For that alone our team is special.
