Well..... After re-watching the game...... He was terrible again. Worse than I originally thought yesterday. I know SouthBeach defended him all offseason, but he really is terrible. My question is...... Is Turner that much worse?

Shocking. A guy who has been terrible his entire career is still terrible. It's like the posters who are shocked Tannehill missed some open receivers badly. He has done it his entire career. No amount of training camp is going to fix ingrained flaws in players.

Dallas did not have his best game and gave up two sacks, but one was the RT fumble, where Albert's man beat him clean and missed a clean shot on the QB before Dallas's man beat Dallas to get to Ryan after Albert's man. Dallas was not as good as he was last year at LG but still graded out better than Douglas did at RG. Douglas had some good plays and had some bad plays, Dallas will be fine. Just let the group play together a few weeks, the OL was not the problem yesterday.

Freakin great post KTOWN. I saw thomas struggle a few times, but It looked like most of the game tanny had a fairly clean pocket. Have not watched the game yet to really get a good look, but at the game seemed like he had time to throw.

i have hope dallas can hold it down (no idea why), but if they moved jamil douglas to LG (his natural position?) and inserted Billy Turner at RG, i would be very interested to see the result.

It's like posters being shocked that quarterbacks actually miss open receivers all over the league...

They do but the good ones don't do it with near the frequency of RT. I'm hopeful he can be an exception and actually change.

The good ones have been in the league 5+ years.

Not to mention RT is actually a very accurate passer...but I'm not going to get into that argument.

It's like some people only watch highlights of other teams/QBs and mythically believe that they have a completion percentage of 100, lol.

Watch Brady play. Any pressure and moved off spot, and he's short-hopping balls and missing WRs downfield. Sometimes badly.

It really is insane this level of perfection some people expect regarding Tannehill that no QB in the league possesses. I watched Brady on opening night miss more than one wide open WR, one for a potential TD just like Tanny. Granted other than those misses Brady was essentially flawless while Tannehills game was more up and down, but my point remains that acting like Tanny has some inherent inaccuracy that other QBs dont have is ridiculous.

Also I see a lot of people saying that the pocket was mostly clean. Thats only because Tannehill gets the ball out on his first read more often than not, and extremely quickly (for better or worse). The O-Line had some nice flashes during the game but overall it was a very subpar performance in pass protection.

I mean...the guy had the 5th highest completion percentage in football last year throwing to the likes of Brian Hartline and a Mike Wallace who mixed speeds more than an MLB pitcher. How woefully inaccurate can someone convince themselves he is?

Glass half full: it should be easy to find a huge upgrade. screw age/ZBS fit etc just get someone

True.

He had to get the passes off quickly for the most part. And on longer drops usually dealt with junk -- either cluttered pocket or pressure which took him off the spot, with no pocket in which to step up.

The luxury that many QBs have of standing there in the pocket, surveying the field for 3 or 4 seconds, untouched... will Miami ever see those days?

15 teams last season allowed an average 2 sacks per game or the same as Dallas Thomas this season
