Freshman quarterback Mitch Mustain has decided to stay with the Razorbacks, his mother said Thursday morning. But unless changes are made to the Razorbacks' offense, don't be surprised if Mustain looks to transfer to another school after spring practice, according to a person close to the player.
"At this time, Mitch is still at the University of Arkansas," said Beck Campbell, the player's mother.
Mustain started eight straight games after the season-opening 50-14 loss to USC, and the Razorbacks won each of the games the freshman started. But sophomore Casey Dick replaced Mustain early in a 26-20 win at South Carolina on Nov. 4, and Mustain got little playing time after that. Damian Williams, who was Mustain's favorite receiver at Springdale High School and started five games for the Hogs this season, already has decided to leave. Williams was granted a release from his scholarship Wednesday and plans to transfer to another school. Florida and Texas are two of Williams' possible destinations.
The controversy started after the freshmen's parents met with Arkansas athletics director Frank Broyles last Thursday to voice their concerns about the direction of the program under Nutt, who has a 67-43 record in nine seasons at Arkansas.
This was an ESPN insider blog so I can't post the link. I really hope he becomes a Gator cause he did look very promising when he was in there.
