Damien Williams has proven to be explosive and versatile in his three year NFL career but he’s seemingly carved out a niche for himself in Adam Gase’s offense. Williams has always had a knack for making big plays but he is currently flourishing in his third season as a member of the Miami Dolphins.

Williams has put points on the board in the run game as well as in the passing game this season but his worth goes well beyond making explosive plays. He’s a valuable special teams player and he’s a willing blocker at the running back position.

Was worried we'd cut him preseason. He's a productive and somewhat clutch, rusher, receiving back and ST player. Could never figure out why he didn't receive more love around here. :idk:

Happy to see him proving all the doubters here wrong. He's a big part of this offense. So many people wanted him cut.

I had to pick him up in my fantasy league so let's hope they really like him this week.

I am only just starting to warm up to him. Two years of watching him bungle KO returns and seemingly always get stuffed on 3rd and 1 had me sour. But he has been a pleasant surprise this year. He still dances too much in the backfield. He and Ajai remind me of Andersen and Hilman in denvers offense the past couple years. You could tell CJ was the better runner and when Hillman came in he either danced for 1 yard when CJ would have gotten 5 or made a nice play in the passing game.

Williams catches the ball very well and has body control to boot, but I'll always have that visual burned in my mind of him dropping a perfectly placed rainbow in to his mitts on the far sideline a few years back. The specific game escapes me at the moment.

Concerning his offensive play that's pretty much the only bad wrap I have on him is that play. Otherwise I've viewed him as a solid contributor and likes style of running.

Damien Williams is best when catching the ball while facing the QB (with his thumbs facing each other). He can snag bullets out of the air, like a WR.

But he's not as good at the deep ball over-the-shoulder type catches. He can do it, but his ability in that area is just average.

I agree haha. My new memory will be that pirouette catch on the sideline for 6!

I watched him in preseason this year, and saw he was much faster than previous years. He must have done some speed training during the off season. He was not that fast last year. Looks like he is going to be a very good back up.

Just keep him away from returning kicks ....

He makes plays when given the opportunity, I like him and expect him to get more opportunities.
