Hello fins fans!

So I'm re watching the Jets Dolphins game and it's the beginning of the second half, 3rd down and Cutler hits Williams with a 3rd down conversion pass. It's then I think to myself, "I've seen this before this year.. quite a few times."

Damien Williams has done a great job in the pass game on third down this year, both passblocking and catching passes. As much as Ajayi may disagree with getting pulled off the field on 3rd downs, Williams has been very effective for this team on third down.

Anyone disagree? Post your opinions!

Fins up from Canada!

He seems to come through on 3rd downs

Excellent Third Down Back...

NE likes him a lot...

Great Compliment to Ajayi..

Even though he does cut into Drake significantly..

But depth is never a bad thing...

Solid 3rd down back. Wish he would be more productive on 1st and 2nd downs, though.
If he was the Dolphins couldn't afford to pay him. Don't forget he held out even though he was a restricted free agent. No one offered him a contract which is why he came back, but if he was a better runner he'd have been snatched up by another team. He's definitely the best pass catcher on the team out of the RBs.

Very true.

Does a great job filling a specific role.

Damien Williams is absolutely a good football player. He should be given more touches. The Pats liked him and you know would use him very well.

I have no idea what the hell people are looking at half the time.

Love Damien Williams as our 3rd down back. Great pass catcher, good blocker, and plays with an attitude.

board always seems to be torn on him....one day he's useless, one day he's an unsung hero....truth is he's carved out a small role in this offense to help give Ajayi a break, and can catch/run well enough. He's not going to break ankles but he's sneakily elusive, reliable hands....not to mention he had 6 touchdowns last year.

eventually you'd like to see him upgraded, imo, with someone who can deliver a bit more consistency simply running the rock...but he's absolutely serviceable.

Agreed. He had been doing the same stuff last year, but seems to be doing it a bit better this year. And, the most important part is that he seems (knock on wood!) to have fixed his problem with situational awareness. Last year he was the guy who during a last minute final drive where we needed to score, he would turn INSIDE, fight for 1 extra yard (when we had 50 to go) and not get out of bounds to stop the clock, costing us a timeout or needing to spike and lose a down to stop the clock. He's made several bonehead plays like that in the past.

But this year (knock on wood!) he hasn't done that. Hopefully he's figured it out.
