Damion McIntosh: X-Factor?

Smith at guard would get eaten alive iMO. He gets no push at the POA as it is and against a DT, I think he would be outmatched. Tosh is a good NFL LT. DOnt forget last year he did what he did on 1 good leg...and that includes keeping JT in tact for the most part.

So we would have

Mcintosh - LT
Jeno James - LG
Mckinney - C
Whitely or Smith RG
Carey or St. Clair RT

I'd rather see

Mc - LT
Jeno - LG
Mckinney - C
Carey - RG
St. Clair RT

with Smith backing up Mc, Whitley behind Carey (and Carey could slide out to RT if needed). German is still in the mix back there somewhere and Hadnot is too raw (from what I read through the offseason) although will back a good backup in another year or two and may (one year) break through to a starting spot but I doubt it.

The extra weight must be doing something to Wade Smith. I mean he wasn't great last year but with the exception of 2 or 3 games he looked like our future at LT. The new blocking scheme also. Maybe his attitude which has always been very self-confident is making him think he doesn't have to work as hard as he should. Whatever the reason he needs some on the bench to think it over and work on it. And I can't understand why everytime a good lineman is released we pass...Pete Kendall...

yea but you know what guys, Dave isent gunna think of putting vernon in because hes an idiot

It doesn't matter. Mac is just an average lineman replacing a below average lineman. Whats up with James and the penalties? I think he's had at least one every game including preseason. Sure he looked good at the camps...they were comparing him to other dolphin linemen...it wasn't hard for him to look good. This o-line sucks...they should improve but still won't be good.

I agree. Jeno is making mistakes out there too. Its easy to shine during training camps and mini camps. Now that the rubber has met the road, he is silently getting owned.

he had 1 penalty guys... even mawae gets penalties for holding of tripping, etc... anything to protect ur qb... unlike that @sshole smith, who shud reverse roles with feeley in practice, and take the punishment from our Dl... then we'll see how well he'll block when he knows how it feels~

Mc is only an average tackle, no X-factor. Nonetheless, he is better than Wade "The Human Turnstile" Smith. Carey needs to play somewhere. RT, RG, I really don't care where you play him. If he is not an upgrade over either Whitley or St. right now, then he was not worth the first round pick.
and the 4th!!

By the way, guys...Even when Macintosh comes back, that's not all of a sudden gonna give us a good OLine. This guy, who's average, is not going to make such a HUGE difference. You're still gonna see every team that we play-from now on, just blitz on every down cause they know our line can't hold and AJ will make mistakes.
