Damn, guards are going fast.....

## The Dolphins missed out on two of their preferences at guard: Roger Saffold (who got more money -- five years, $42.5 million -- to sign as a tackle with Oakland) and former Bronco Zane Beadles (Miami made a good offer, but Jacksonville bid more at five years, $30 million).

But the Dolphins have expressed interest in several free agent guards who are still available, including former Dolphin Wade Smith (16 starts for Houston last season, rated 59th of 81 guards by PFF/ four sacks allowed), former Packer and Cardinal Daryn Colledge (rated 39th of 81 guards, two sacks allowed).

They also have shown interest in Evan Dietrich Smith, who was PFF’s eight-ranked center last season but also has experience at guard, where he would presumably play if Miami signs him. Dietrich-Smith plans to visit Tampa Bay, but Miami has inquired.

There were only 2 or 3 above average guards to begin with.

Already at this point so early into FA since I didn't land a top G I would go to plan B. My plan B would be to sign a priority player for RT then sign a TE like Daniels or Finley then a RB like Tate. Then focus my first two picks in the draft on G Martin in round 1 and G Bodine in round 2.

Wow, that's some high numbers for OG's. I'm glad we didn't "win" those auctions. Good players sure, but that's overpaying IMHO.

Ive always thought of drafting my two G's and bring in someone like Davin Joseph and you have your bases covered. Would like to have a veteran RT though.

I read Austin Howard is in Oakland. I dont think he will be leaving.

I don't know about Beadles....he was called the most overrated Guard in FA by PFF

PFF is great, but not all of their ratings are accurate. Situations that they don't look at like blocking scheme and coverages cause PFF to blame players that aren't supposed to be blamed for poor plays. That's why I don't trust their OL and CB ratings.
