Damon Jones signs with Cavs!

W....O.....W

What the hell happened to him resigning with us? I have a friend who is a hardcore Cavs fan because of L.J. and now with Jones on there, that team is gonna get even better which means I have to hear him talk more junk.

Thank god. I love Damon as a person but now that JWill is our starting point guard, we need a backup that can D up on the opposing PG. Steve Blake? Gary Payton? I don't know, but Damon is the farthest thing from what we need right now.

Has anyone heard anything on Jay Williams from Duke? I know it's off topic but this guy was my favorite college player ever and I hope he lands on his feet. I remember hearing rumors teams (including the Heat) were interested. Any word?

My question is, where does the 3-point shooting come from now?? Especially in the backcourt.

We don't have one legitimate 3-point shooter on the roster right now. Walker is probably the most prolific guy. And he's a 6-10 forward who's a career 33%.

We need a guard who can pop them. And we need him to be a defensive oriented player.

Steve Blake...

Guard? Check
3-point shooter? Check
Defensive-oriented? Check
Wants to play in Miami? Check

Sign him up! :D

He'd probably be my 1st choice as well, even though we'll probably need to slightly overpay him so that Washington doesn't match the offer. Even so, I think he's worth it, and I'd rather get a younger, hungry guy like Blake than an aging vet with nothing to prove.

We still have our whole MLE. We can split it up anyway we want to, but it doesn't recycle so we might as well use it in some form.

Bad move by Jones, there's a reason he had his best season and that reason was Shaq getting him open shots. I know he'll play w/ Lebron but it's diffrent when you have a big, domiant C like Shaq and a guy like Lebron who does not camp out down low like Shaq.

Never heard of Blake..

Did you miss college basketball during the late 90's and early 2000's. He was the point guard for Maryland during the Lonny Baxter, Juan Dixon, Laron Profit era..

The heat's priority should be signing gerald Wallace...that would complete the rotation....

As for the backup PG....Blake would be fine.

The concern IMO is the need for a 3 pt. specialist to come off the bench.....

Well now he has to play with the guy who dunked all over his *** last year.
