Dunno, but I get a Spo vibe from Campbell. They both came up the same way; former players (though Spo not pro), former lowly interns under HOF coaches (Riley and Parcells). Recruited from within. Relatively young. Systems already in place. I don't think it's a coincidence Ross is pulling something out of Riles' book here. I think it's a smart move personally.

Campbell (though much more intense; almost Cowher-like) also has a bit of Spo's hyperbolic style. That style works better with big talents like Suh, Bron, etc.

For me?? Best hire since JJ and my type of coach. I've not liked a single coach post-JJ for this team, until now. Which is kinda sad to say (the guy is a TE coach) but here we are.

I like his youth, passion for the game, and energy. With good coordinators, he might be our coach for a long time.
Philbin had no experience other than doing power points. No people skills or intangibles. He somehow posted mediocre seasons.
Campbell has been a player under Parcells, and a position coach. Thin yes, but he brings those intangibles.
He has 12 games to show he belongs. I like taking chances like this. The way this season unfolded, we had nothing to lose.
Most of the HOF coaches started out the same way. Position coaches, given a chance to head coach.

I've never really thought of Campbell as a head. But I remember watching hard knocks and liking him. My opinion is he's going to be a good hc. At least I'm hoping so. Seems tough and can back it up.

I think we might have finally nailed it with this hire. I know talk is cheap, but Coach Campbell sounds like a young, hungry, passionate coach that has a solid vision. If it's true that teams take on the personality of their HC then expect a much tougher football team.

Hopefully he can win like spo did with the big 3.

However, please do not compare one of the greatest coaches/gms/pres of all time in all of north american sports history. Riley the Godfather could take this crap dolphins franchise over and I would believe that he will have u winning in less then 3 years.

While that fat fraud that just goes around stealing money from different franchises on his success from the prehistoric era.

Ew. I ****ing hope not. Dan was an actual player at the highest level of the sport who played under great coaches and was team leader of successful teams. Spo was a video editor who did an extraordinary job of kissing Riley's ass to get the gig of coaching a historically great collection of talent.

Oh, don't get me wrong... the phins are no Heat. And I hate the Tuna. I was just comparing the hire.
This is a good hire. Plain and simple. Definitely the best Ross could do given the circumstances.

For god's sake, I hope he can see certain players need to go to the bench, get onto the field, or role changed. The handling of personnel has been infuriating. When you see players half ass plays, you bench them - it's not rocket science..

LOL @ comparing the godfather to any trash the Fin's have in employment right now. The Dolphins can't touch the Heat whatsoever.

Anybody here feel like Dan Campbell came across as a deer in head lights?
