I'm told Dan Campbell was a finalist for the job. Was not happy when he was told he wasn't hired.

If that is true, this coaching search was a bigger joke that I thought. Campbell probably threatened to kick Tannebaum's ass or something... lol "Uh, we'll call you back in a few days, Dan."
 
comeon you didnt' get a job that you put your heart and soul into and you were told you didnt' get that job? how would you react? I think a couple days to cool down and consider your future is well warranted. I hope Campbell does well whatever he decides, and I certainly thought of the all the other options that dan Campbell would be in the hunt for the job.
 
Ehhhhhrrrr... it's Armando. Not sure I believe it.

On the other hand, if that list is legit, I'm definitely happy we got Gase.

This team was never going to keep Campbell. We didn't need continuity, we needed a change. Whether or not it pays off, we'll see, but keeping Campbell, as much as I love the guy, was never an option.
 
I think Campbell could be a good coach...granted i think he needs a little more time before thats the case but i like Dan Campbell, i hope he stays with the team as an assistant...the players like him. Chances are he will go elsewhere but im glad they at least gave Dan Campbell a legitimate fair shot at the job. He seems like a really good guy and a good leader but he got propelled into a job he wasnt particularly ready for 4 games into the season...the team was already in shambles. He was basically handed the keys to a piece of **** car with engine problems and was expected to get it to run.

Im happy we landed Gase tho....
 
That was the bottom 5 of my coaching list. They completely ignored the obvious and most qualified candidates. None of them were from Michigan, because that is all that matters.
That list is no consolation to him.
Got to feel bad for Campbell. I don't think he is coming back. If the ownership coach search committee believed in him, they would have given him the job.
Instead they gave it to another guy with no player, or head coaching experience.
He has more pride than that. I would not stay. I would be thinking " let the Madden smart guy deal with those guys".
Gase will not have Campbell as his yes man and enforcer. He had a taste of being a HC, and he liked it.
I do not think Gase will be able to control the locker room. Just my opinion.
 
I'm sure he was told that. Whether or not it's accurate a different story.
 
You mean to tell me, of all the guys they interviewed, these two were the top 2 choices? This doesn't alarm anyone? That is the most ridiculous list of coaches they could have come up with. lol wow
 
I hope Campbell will be on the staff because coaching expirence they both were in Detroit 2007
 
Shannahan must of had a really ****ty interview to be jumped by Campbell and Marrone. Yuck.

Age. Shannahan is too long in the tooth. Also the time off probably didn't help him, how much passion does he have left in the tank?

Tannenbaum doesn't want anyone challenging him. Coughlin and Shanahan would not take TBomb's bull shiit.
He hired an apprentice HC and someone who will look up to him.
This is the weakness of this franchise.
Joe Robbie and Bobby Beatherd hired coach Shula because he was strong willed, vocal, and aggressive.
The Millennial Fins - Meek, Sweet, and petite.

Considering Ross is the Head Clown of the Miami Circus does that surprise you?

I said my peace about Gase, you guys can have it. I have nothing good to say at all about this whole mess, so I'm only going to get down voted here. I can't support this team like this. I've been through this too many times now.
