I have been in Dan Henning's corner and I still am but some of Sunday's playcalling left me baffled and frustrated.

1. Stop bringing in Pat White to run the Pistol.... save the play against NE he ususally ends up getting 1-2 yards because he folds like a tent when hit.

2. Let Chad Henne gain some rythm....makes a good pass then either splits out wide or go to the sidelines. Only to come back in on a 3rd and long. That is no way for our future QB to gain confidence let alone a rythm with his recievers

3. Run out of the base offense. Too much Wildcat

4. Throw the intermediate routes, if I rememeber correctly we had good success last year with pennington throwing intermediate routes to Camarillo and bess.

I am admittedly no offensive coordinator but it seems we are relying heavily on these 2 formations.....when I believe we could have better success out of a 2 tight end set with limited use of the Cat

If Ronnie is out I think you'll see more base offense, I could get behind P.W if it actually did something. Every time he gets in it's a wasted play except for 1, option can not be run in the NFL for any long term success. I wish Henne would be under center now for every snap and let's look for Cam alot more please.

My problem with Henning is less to do with those formations and more with our ultra conservative approach when we have a lead. It seems like when we are playing from behind or playing a great offense like the Saints or Colts that the dolphins play calling is pretty aggressive. We run a lot, but when we pass we try to throw the ball farther than 2 yards. As soon as we get a lead though its time to play mother hen sitting on her egg. We need to be more aggresive in the passing game if we want to put teams away.

I too beleive Dan Henning sometimes outsmarts himself.....

but when it works, he looks like a genuis....when it doesn't, he looks like an idiot

Im done with Henning period.....I mean half of the success this year and last year has been through the Wildcat and that was formation Henning didnt even bring to Miami!!! Seriously I think we could find someone else better than him. I have not been a person who has bashed on him once since he took over but I have finally got to the realization point that we need someone better

totally agree and i hope 2 gos if Ronnie is out we dont run the Wildcat a lot. I get so scared when Ricky catches that ball with out seeing the wildcat running by him its gonna bite us 1 of these times. Let Ricky run the tosses and normal HB plays beacuse that is what Ricky is a True HB.

remember that scene from The Waterboy where the fonz is all come here i have a play...we line up two receivers to the right one to the left the RB next to the quarterback....so the Qb gets the ball he fakes right..no no no he fakes left.....NO he pretends to fake..... he thinks about faking

oh i dont know whats going on the room is spinning in need to sit down....THATS DAN HENNING.....he needs to visualize and ATTACK!!!

I agree.

Once we have the lead we are too predictable with the passing game. We need to be be able to pass better. This would make the running game more effective late in the game.

That said, Ricky played like a beast yesterday. His last run especially.

Classic Henning

With Ronnie out, we will see more base offense. If our base offense does well against Carolina, I think some tough decisions wil have to be made.

You will see much more base offense because Ricky does not need the Wildcat to run well. He can explode out of base running formations.

Wildcat is used when you want to get Ronnie carries. He needs to tapdance and pick his holes, and our base running for some reason isn't conducive to his running style. Ricky is fine PTR from base.
