What are peoples opinions of this guy? Keep him for '09 or not? I personally think he has done a marvelous job, especially with the roster he was given. He gets the best out his players and knows how to utilize them well. Whether its perfectly timed reverse to Ginn, bubble screens to the guy who caught bubble screens all day at Hawii, Devone Bess, or a skinny post to Martin, the guy has been on the money at knowing what to expect from the defense. And yes Pennington has been nearly flawless as well, and thats why I think they make a perfect fit.
He has also made some bone-headed play calls but after Mularkeys time here, I'm okay with a one or two a game, rather than every other play.

I think we need to keep Henning around because he's been better than alot of the coordinators we have had in recent memory. I think he has his moments where you scratch your head and say why would he do that? But then there are others when you say, damn good call. Plus i think we need continuity on the team more so than anything else.

I cannot stand him. He was AWFUL at the beginning of the season. Horrid, pedestrian, predictable play calling. Then, he brought in the Wildcat which helped ALOT. The last few games he seems to be backslideing with stupid call (in critical situations) after stupid call. He absolutely insenses me. I still remember that Jets game where he was running PA with less than a minute left and no timeouts. I was screaming at the screnn..."WHO THE **** THINKS WE'RE GOING TO RUN DAN?!"

It's obvious Henning should stay period, da Phins have not been this good on "O" in about 4 years.

Come on super mod- how about finding a way for us to use the thank you more than once. Your last post deserved at least three from me.
:woot:

I'd get rid of him, but it's not a top priority. Only do it if someone significantly better is available and address other issues first.

He can stay as long as he likes. Don't like his play calling? Blame Sparano, he tells Henning what kind of game to call.

Kind of like Parcells telling Sparano what kind of game to call or we could say Wayne is to blame because he hired Parcells, who tells Sparano to tell Henning what kind of offense he wants to run.

The bottom line is that the buck stops where the job description begins and thats Hennings baby.

Sorry, but it came out of Hennings mouth in one of his interviews on Official Miami Dolphins site.

You should try watching the games sober! :beer1:

I like the guy, he's got a ton of experience in the NFL, that right there is priceless, but i do see them looking for someone younger to take over the reins, we should not forget alot of the success they have is in the result of our General on the fiels and that's Chad Pennington, basically it's all a team effort and you have to believe in a system for that system to work, I'm not saying offensive coordinators are not important because they are but it's more important that those 11 guys on offense execute the play by not making any mistakes , back in the old days the Green Bay Packers ran sweeps after sweeps and no one could stop them , it was because Vince Lombardi got his team to believe they can run that sweep to prefection every play, he got his players physically and mentally prepared more than other coaches did and he had the right pieces to the puzzle, chemistry is a huge thing and i belive we got it going on in miami right now.

i am a fan. i think he is a perfect fit for this team. working with the panthers and their run game, and having coached chad as well, i'm sure made it easier for our offense to gel. and implementing the wildcat was nothing short of brilliant, takes some big stones to break out something like that in the nfl.

He's done a great job for the most part but some of his calls are just utterly retarded

I'd keep him around for continuity's sake, but I think I'd also gradually start to take some of the control away from him. He makes too many bad calls for particular situations, especially in the 4th quarter.
