He was a little tough on the O line after a night they clearly play their best. Does he have some vested interest in the old radio station, who slams us every chance they get?

I understand this unit is just coming together, but to slam Houck and his pay too? To come up with amusing but uncalled for names like " The Unemployment Line" Hadnot's Havenot's? These insults coming a day after this teams O line plays its best game of the season?

I detect a little bitterness from ole Dan. This sounds more like an all out attack than just an opinion. Did Saban ask who is this DORK when he asked a few questions? Something happen for this guy to be so upset.

I've heard the venom with which Dan discusses the Dolphins and, personally, I don't think it's objective. I know this subject has been discussed here before, but it's my opinion that he just doesn't like the Dolphins. Don't remember if he's a fan of another AFCE team or not.

Dan is a "shock Jock" journalist.. He is always writing things to get people pissed off. He has been on a Steriod supporter kick for a couple months now. That should show you what he is capable of. Just saying things that get readers fired up.

Maybe it's just me, but his obvious bitterness seems worse this season.

It's not just you. Seems the same way to me too.

He is pissed because Ricky will not talk to him!:goof: Otherwise, I thought his last article was not very professional. He is tacky and should leave Miami. Specifically, he called Wannstadt, Wannstache, which I think is fine if you are a fan or player or someone else not representing the Miami Herald.

I am percieved as a dan defender to some. He is a halarious radio personality if he stays on or off topic. He is very much on the players side of reporting and not so much on the "teams" in my opinion.

With thats said, from a reporters standpoint, the worst o-line in the NFL just showed a step of progress, Yes we are getting better but we are no where near where we want to be and i think that comes across wrong from Dan. Look our O-line is bad and we are getting better and untill it counts we've still got the worst and when teams gameplan they are going to bring the blitz untill we can prove to them that we can handle it.

Come on, pay attention to contemporary sports journalism, especially via columnists. That column would not have changed regardless of the specifics of the game. We could have rushed for 579 yards or -351 and the theme would have been base identical. I guarantee virtually all of it was written long before the game began. A columnist who has reached LeBetard's tenure and status, with all the ESPN perks, is not going to sit there at Pro Player and write a who/what/where type of blase column based on a preseason game that ends at 11 PM. He comes up with a cutesy idea beforehand and fills it will cutesy lines. Besides, you're nuts if you overreact to the OL play on Saturday night and consider all our problems solved. The column was flooded with basic truths amidst all the filler. None of those truths changed significantly, if at all, on Saturday night.

Le ******* is paid to get a rise out of Dolphin fans. If the Dolphins won the Superbowl, then he'd complain about the parade route, it's his job.

Woa Nellie, are you Dan's father? I never said all of our problems on the O line were solved, but give credit when its due. He could have mentioned how well they performed as a unit the first drive of the game and they did just that.

He could have wrote this;

Although the Miami O line struggles continue in Miami, Switching Mcintosh to LT and Carey to RT did show some results during the first drive of the game. The unit for the first time looked cohesive and blocked well for the QB and the Running back, allowing them to score their first TD of the preseason in the first half of a game.

Is there anything wrong with that statement? Is this not what happen? He is suppossed to REPORT that to those he buy the Herald, is he not? He sounded BITTER and like he has a personal grudge vs this team.

I also agree with the last poster who said he sounded unprofessional and didn't represent the Herald well.
