well people blame orton for Denver being bad last season
when the defense was 32nd and the rushing offense 27th. Not usre any qb can overcome that

Its a team game no qb wins it all by himself. marino was the best of all time and never won the big one. Its a shame Manny wright has a superbowl ring and dan marino doesnt lol

Here is an interesting question,

Did Shula abandon what made his teams great in the past and rely on Marino too much?

Without Marino he probably would have continued to play his style of football and may have had greater success.

Yeah, I know, blasphemy.

sad but true in 71,72, 73, and 82 Miami was in the top 5 in Defense and Rushing offense

Definitely wasn't his fault as far as what he produced...but I don't think it was any secret that Dan didn't want to run the football and Dan was completely against bringing in a Pro Bowl caliber running back. Dan was a gun slinger and that's just how it was gonna be. That may have cost him.

The defense is inexcusable.

Now you are comparing Orton w/ Marino? orton is mediocrity, Marino was greatness. Orton is a nice vet QB if you are grooming a young QB, he's a not a guy you build around.

Takes Junc to talk sense to dlockz.... Wow you do have a purpose here - Orton was partly to blame as was Henne for leaving the D on the field - his stats inflated when the game was out of and

U missed my point of course. My point ws if the greatest qb of all time could not overcome a mediocre defense and a medicore run game how can only a good qb like orton overcome a horrible defense and a almost horrible run game

Den's D 2 years ago was a good one- what was the excuse that year? he had good D's in Chi and never played in a playoff game.

God that defense in the late 90s early 2000s was dirty.

Those D's were great until the games became big then they folded.

I will say the same to u how many qb's could overcome the worst defense in the league and among the worst rushing attacks in the league and have a winning record. their defense was last in points and yards so u cant balme Orton for the team giving up too many points. Im sure sanchez's record has nothing to do with his team having the 3rd best rushing attack in the NFL and the 3rd ranked defense in the nfl. he carried the jest oon his back with hios 75 qb rating and 54 percent accuracy. he was basically Trent Dilfer last year. Also to u if stats are inflated because u play bad why are Orton's stats so much better than Henne's.

He may have never played in a playoff game in Chicago but the chicago bears went to the playoffs while he was theri starting qb. They went back to their original starter when the playoffs began much like we went back to Bob Griese when he was ready even though the team won with Morral. Orton was not good as a rookie but did not turn the ball over alot which is one of the big reasons they were able to still do well. He was not supposed to play as a rookie but injuries forced him on field. still recordwise he was 10-5. but Chiccago had a greeat defense that year. The next year he was starter he went 9-6 with a very average chicago defense and a much better job of him qbing. This was not the same defense as 2005 that was among the best this was a 21st ranked defense not an awesome defense like u describe. He played much improved over rookie season. 9-6 record by qb some years will not get u into playoffs , seem to remember the jets making playoffs at 9-7 so i mean really u are going to crap on him because his 9-7 team did not make the playoffs with the 21st ranked defense in the league. Also the bears were 24th in rushing that season. Quite a deaprture from their playoff year when they had the best scoring defesne and one of the best defenses in the league. Evgerytime the Bears have made the playoffs its been with a top defense . with the bears Orton's record was 21-13 while Sanchez's record is 19-12 with jets.
Not exactly a ground breaking difference. Hell Chicago never had a rushing attack anything like the jets his whole time there and most years theri run game was quite average with the only exception being 2005

They did have a good defense in 2009 and the 18th ranked rushing offense . 8-8 not awesome but not far from Sanchez and Jets 9-7 which had a betetr defense and a top running game. so u dont think having the best rushing team in the league compared to the 16th best makes any difference or that the jets with the best defense in the league did not have a better defense than Denver. best rushing attack and best defense and only won 1 more game than awful azz Orton lol.

yep, then he was benched for rex Grossman:lol:

yes Bob griese and a young rex grossman were very similar:lol:

Except Sanchez won big games in the reg season and POSTSEASON- did orton do that w/ the Bears?

Now it's the rushing offenses fault. Come on. In '09 Buckhalter & Moreno gained almost 1600 yds on 4.3 YPC. They had a good enough ground game(for comparison sake the jets last year only had about 80 more yds on .2 yds less YPC). Their ground game was more efficient, enough w/ the excuses. Denver was 6-0 and 8-4 and couldn't make the playoffs.
