While that sounds great and might be one small contributing factor, it ultimately will come down to the team who 1) is close to making a SB; 2) willing to give Manning control of the offense (at the line); 3) willing to pay him a decent amount (not huge) of $. Dan doesn't have all that many connections with this FO and ownership like in the past, so I'm not sure how much say he really has.
