Dan Marino NOT in ESPN`s top 10

Good for him, but he was still average. Marino got there 3 times after '84. ironically, it was a superior bills team that stood in thw ay of both Marino and Montana. So you indirectly make my point for me: Montana as we saw in 93, showed he was not better than Marino when armed with an average team going up against much superior and balanced competition.
and it was only twice after 84(85 and 92)...unless i missed something

look, neither of us are going to sway the other...you have your opinion, i have mine. I think Joe Montana is the best qb of alltime, you think Danny...just agree to disagree

Actually, i don't. I think dan was the best passer of the football of all time. I think that's indisputable. There are so many more variables that go into "QB" -- yes SBs included -- that it makes it a far more subjective topic. That's why lists that attempt to rate QBs as a whole make no sense.

Yeah, my bad. I have the SD game (94? 95?) inbedded in my head as a AFC championship game. F-in Stoyanovich! I forgot they raped Pitt the next game too

Why would Elway not be considered a better QB he went to how many SB's thats got to count for something

I have no problems with Elway being considered for the top 10 or whatever, my problem was including one of his former teammates to rank the players. Why didn't they use Joe Rose or Nat Moore, etc.

It's all subjective

It's kind of crazy to try to determine the greatest QB of all time...Opinions really once you get to the top 10 guys....It's even crazier to try to determine the top 10 players of all time because you're talking about all positions mixed up in that....It would be better to just pick a top 10 per position, in no order and be done with it...Even then there would be some arguments with guys on the bubble like Joe Namath and Roger Staubach....Here is my top ten in RANDOM order...

Johnny Unitas
Dan Marino
John Elway
Joe Montana
Dan Fouts
Roger Staubach
Terry Bradshaw
Otto Graham
Len Dawson
Steve Young
Jim Kelly
...............Active...Peyton Manning
Best to not make list....Joe Namath and Fran Tarkenton

Well in my opinion ESPN will never give props to marino cause i think marino turned them down and went to CBS as analyst ... i came to that conclusion the HOF weekend when all they showed were steve young´s highlight reel and almost never mentioned marino ...dont get me wrong i fully respect elway but the fact that he won a SB doesn´t make him better than marino .... but i still think marino is up there along montana and unitas

IMO Fouts couldn't carry Jim Kelly's jock...those two should be switched...

I've said it before and I'll say it again...If you had a team with absolutely no running game and no defense, and you could take any QB in the history of the game, in their prime, to carry that team, who would it be? I'm taking a 25 year old Dan Marino and not looking back!

If you read the post you will see that the list is in random order....although I don't necessarily agree with you that Kelly was that much better than Fouts.

Not worth reading, we all know Dan is the best qb ever and certainly in the top 10 best players of all time. ESPN can bite me.

Well, I wouldn't use the term "almost never mentioned marino". They did. However, the coverage was disproportionate in the sense that they gave them just about equal coverage despite the fact the two are most definately not equals.

yaeh I don't like Fouts on that list. Kelly, as much as I'd hate to admit it, should be a bit higher.
