Dan Marino NOT in ESPN`s top 10

Right. We all saw how average Montana could be in his last couple 49ner years and then the sad stint in KC. Marino, no matter how bad the supporting cast could never be classified as average. I think Elway was a better individual QB than Montana, but even he only won rings when he got help

That's ridiculous. Have you seen the Notre Dame game where Montana came back to win the championship?

The KC playoff game was one of the very best performances I've ever seen by a QB. Montana has never even apeared average by any standards.

Elway's career was saved by Terrel Davis. If it wasn't for him there would be NO rings on his fingers. He is no way near as talented as Danny or Montana.:fire:

Funny how Bornco fans only remember those last two years. As a long time Raider & Dolphan I've seem loads of average games by Elway...

Joe Theismann is a friggin idiot Sammy Baughhh-10pt Jerry Rice-5 :yell:

I just wish Danny had FIVE!!! Superbowls to prove he could win two. I'll bet dollars to donuts that he would have had a better than 40% winning percentage.

The record would not have been broken had the defenders been able to cover receivers like they did in 1984.

And Danny didn't have Edgerrin James either.

No never saw the notre dame game where Montana came back to win the championship.

Did see the KC playoff game....was a great perfprmance. Still think Montana is overated. Give Marino that team and every record is his, Marino carried the Phins, Montana didn't have to carry the 9ers.

Elway was saved by Terrel Davis....agreed. He is no where close to being better than Dan.

You're right, bronco fans never remember all those dissapointing years before Davis.

If you read the post you will see that the list is in random order....although I don't necessarily agree with you that Kelly was that much better than Fouts.

My apologies then, was under the assumption that they were in order.

Umm, who's a Bronco fan? And other than troy Aikman, Montana is the QB who's been surrounded by more talent over a sustained period of time than any other since bradshaw. That takes a lot away from his individual status

It just goes to show what not winning a SB did to his overall rating. If he had 2 SB rings then I think he'd be top 5.

more like 1 he would be # 1

LOL-:rofl3: Of all the stupid rankings. Marino holds more records than half those guys combined. Even without a Super Bowl win he should be ranked top 5. If he had a ring it would be hard to argue against him being the best ever.

Mueller frickin put 6 players ahead of Marino? What a joke. Sammy Baugh wasn't 1/2 the player Marino was

bold? yes.

True? yes.

I watched him play... sorry, but the likes of Butkus was a different breed. LT & Ray Lewis are a step behind...

Ray Lewis yes, but LT like Butkus changed they way the game was played. Outside Linebackers in the 80's were getting 20.5 sacks and disrupting just about every play. Players were afraid of LT, so I don't know if Butkus could be considered a different breed. LT was a different breed also..
