Dan Marino on not winning Super Bowl: 'I think about that, even today'

IF this team ever gets back to the level of powerhouse, is it possible to sign Marino to a one day contract, not dress him and get him a ring?

He would never agree to that. IMO that would kind of tarnish things a bit for him. Instead of people talking about him never getting a ring, the conversation would turn into what a disgrace on how he got one.

So get back in the game as a coach and win a Super Bowl... He isn't going to win one sitting at CBS...

That game hurt the most. More than any Dolphins game I ever watched. I was 12 years old, and my friend was watching it with me, laughing. Did I mention he's a BILLS FAN?!?!

Worst. Game. Ever.

I can remember that game like it was yesterday. That probably was the worst defeat for me as a kid growing up liking Marino in a household of Saints fans.

I remember being screened to death by thurman thomas that game and louis oliver getting at the time a big interception at the goal line which should have been a touchback but ref said he caught it at the 1 yard line. tough loss

Ring or no ring, Dan Marino is absolutely, hands down, the best pure passing QB that has ever played in the NFL. If championships were won/lost based solely on the QB, the Phins would have won 17 straight.

I broke lots of household appliances over those Thurman Thomas screen passes..... WHY couldn't they ever see them coming??? Grrr....

I started watching NFL in the 1990 playoff (hearthbreaking loss at Buffalo, in the snow.... I didn't Know football, but even I could see how great was the n'13 on a freaking weak team....) so my opinion is obviously limited, but.... just a name: TOM OLIVADOTTI.....

I just cannot understand how that man had a job...not after multiple defensive collapses between 80&90s (last season game vs Jets, 1991 :( and so on...)..... our defenses always sucked, I don't care about the ranking: watching them play you knew they could not dominate the game.... we had some talent (cox, coleman, bowens, vincent, cross) but man we sucked big time IMO

I think, if you are honest, you have to recognize that that Bills teams was way way way stronger than us, even with their freaking second QB (Frank Reich)..... it was stacked with talents, offense&defense.... and they really had our numbers....

I remember clearly that championship game at home, but I never felt like we really had a chance.... really sad, beacuse Dan was just...... a special special special player, I don't know how to say... he was the ultimate QB (in a time when you could'nt throw the ball away out of the task anytime you like...... when you had to chose in just one second if taking the sack&the hit or throwing the ball, risking a turnover and so on..... I always heard about the rules on passing interference, but rarely about intentional grounding, but I think that is a rule that completely changed the way a QB lives and plays....today, you have to run a few steps and you are safe - toss it out of bounds - at the time you HAD to make a play or be killed.... I mean, how much this is invisible in the stats, but clearly impact the way a QB play?!?!)

sorry for the rant and for my sucky sucky English :)
