Dan Marino?

I ate their years ago, and it was fine. It was no different than a Beverly Hills Cafe.

On a much more important note, I met Dan Marino today. Very nice guy.
 
I ate there and it was excellent. I was a little shocked at how good it was to be honest. I went to one in a non-descript building in the parking lot of a strip mall. It didn't look like it was even going to be good, but because it was Dan Marino's I had to eat there and dragged my wife all over creation finding it (we were on vacation at the time). It turned out to be the very best restaurant we found on the entire trip. It was reasonably priced and we had appetizers, entrees and it was so good we even had desert (we usually just have entrees but I wanted to try as much as I could since I was going to be there so seldom). My wife loved it and I was in awe. We went early evening sort of as an early dinner although we had skipped lunch.

I cannot say how pleasantly surprised I was with his place. On the outside it looked very average. Inside it looked nice, but nothing great. But the food was fantastic. It really was far better than expected. And, since we were there at an odd time, the Maitre Dee (I can't spell it, sorry) actually came over and chatted with us a bit. I asked him questions and he seemed to know quite a bit about Marino's career. He was clearly a restaurant guy first, but he knew his stuff. :)

On a side note, Don Shula's steak house is a higher end place but is also very good. I am proud to say that I'd recommend either place, but Marino's is more reasonably priced.
 
Shula's is exspensive as hell from what I hear.

Yea, Ive eaten at the original Shulas. Damn fine dining, but expensive. Id still recommend eating there. Steaks are great. I still have my "Club Shula" sweatshirt I bought there.

Where are the Marino's restaurants? I didnt even know he had any. I will place that on my list of things to do.
 
I have eaten at his restaurant a few times here in vegas. It's okay, its inside the Hooters casino. There used to be a bar called 13 there as well but it did not do as well and theychanged the name to something else, cant remember the name.
 
i`ve eaten at dan marino`s town tavern in orlando a few timess in 99` while on honeymoon from here in the uk and the food was great ate there again while on vaction in 02 probably the best burger i have eaten in my life !!!

went to orlando again in october 07 last year this time to take my 4 year old daughter to disney and that , but found that pointe orlando had drasticly changed to some up market area with posh eating places marino`s place was shut down still had the sign outside and the football shaped seats inside

dont know if it reopening anytime soon?

Been to Marino's once and it was good. But, Shula's place ....although expensive...is worth it! Also the best steak I have ever had! And great dessert.....I loves my food! Cakes and Pies, Cakes and Pies...and steaks!
 
Anybody have any info on the biga$$ steak that rumored to wonder around 65-70 ounces of pure heaven, @ Shulas?
 
I ate at the Marino's in Las Vegas and it was bomb diggity!!!! I gotta go back soon. I had the sea bass and it was delicious
