Again, why is that "crap"? Is there *any* previous usage of that word as an insult? And again, the context doesn't bear it out as such either...
If you want to make excuses for a bigot be my guest. I am not joining you.

i've heard "cats" and "dogs" , but where do you live where people refer to other people as monkeys as regular slang? lolUm, he said "If they get those three monkeys [Finnegan, Vilma and Vincent Jackson], I'm good. I'm ready, man. I'm ready. I want those guys. Those guys are great players."
Now, *maybe* that was a racist remark. But the context certainly doesn't imply it: he's calling them great players. I think it was a poorly-chosen word, but honestly - what's the difference between that and "dogs", or "cats"? Like, "let's get those cats in here"? I've heard it numerous times, and no one's ever taken it the wrong way. It's not even a slang insult or anything; the closest Google found was "porch monkey", and that's from an UD entry - and frankly I had never heard of it until today.
People have become overly sensitive, IMO. I don't condone racism in any shape or form, but I think it's quite a stretch to find that as a racist remark.
He used to be on the radio up here I'm Tampa he got fired for racial slurs.
