With Manny Wright probably not playing for us this season, we are EXTREMELY thin at DT. Zgonina is a solid player, but beyond him we have really no one with any NFL experience. Josh Shaw has seen very limited action, and Vickerson hasn't touched the field yet.

Any interest we had in Wilkinson should now be quadrupled, because if any of our DT's are injured we are pretty much screwed.

I hope we can get a deal done with Wilkinson.

Agreed. Especially since we have smaller ILB's. I'd think it's definetly a priority.

The biggest question is, what kind of physical condition is Wilkinson in? How quickly will he learn things since he wouldn't be signed until late into camp?

maybe.we do have depth at the dt spot but all are young.so yes a need

Id be all for big daddy in miami.... but i dont think the dt spot is that thin.

yes, i think its time to sign wilkinson and get rid of wright...do you guys think we can get a pick for him or maybe we can do a player for player trade...

Player wise we're not thin but look at the names. Are you confident anyone could pull there own weight if The Trailor get's hurt?

I've had a bad feeling about our NT situation even before Wright flaked out. Now its a major issue, much bigger than our OLB situation that everyone loves to harp on.

i rekon we are pretty set at DT for now but i deffinantly wouldnt be against any move for wilkinson as he will better the team and is a good experienced player who can give traylor a breather and do just as good a job

i think this position could haunt us this season, especially with JT's status in question as it is. Our d line is waht holds us together. our Lbs are good in 2 of the starters. corners are weak safeties are really weak. hope to god everything works out, because it wil suck if we finally have a good offense and our defense collapses after all these years. dramatic considering wright was never really considered to do much, maybe. but wilkerson IS a priority now, and we should have gotten sam adams

He is a vet, and a monster, and he plays a position where u don't have to really learn, especially being in the game for a while, he just has to go in a stuff the holes, something he's been doing for years. Physically u hope that he hasn't let himself go, and early on would be rotated in to spell Traylor, but I'm sure after some TC and practice all week and games, he will be good to go. NT was a position I said was probably our biggest concern since the draft, way more than OLB which I felt comfortable with. U almost gotta get some one in there with good experience just in case Traylor goes down.

we arent THAT bad...

Traylor starts, Zgonina is not a true NT, but he and Vickerson and Carter can rotate in their when need be.

i mean Wilkerson would be nice just as a spell for a true NT for traylor, but we can move some bodies around and still get the job done (albeit, slightly less effective)
