Dane Brugler of the Athletics top 50- we ended up with 4 of the top 35

Good points, I think sometimes when these guys don’t have amazing follow up seasons then the opinions swing too much in the other direction and then good players fall thru the cracks, so let’s hope that’s the case for the Fins sake.
agree. i think both things can be true. sometimes it is a misleading season, but often, they were over-hyped to begin with.

This was the first draft that the Dolphins did exactly what I asked them to do for the most part. Build from the inside out. Draft a big RB. Draft a developmental QB. If this is the philosophy going forward things will improve in a hurry.

Ahhhh, is that actually what 'recency bias' means? I'm figuring that it's more like claiming that Philip Rivers was a better pro QB than Otto Graham was, or that "American Beauty" is superior to "Casablanca" as a motion picture.

Of course a player's final collegiate season is almost certain to affect how a draft prospect is evaluated by NFL teams, especially if his performance during it isn't considered to be as good as during an earlier season. These four Dolphins' draft selections clearly demonstrate that concept, don't they?
I think it might also indicate that many GMs and scouts aren't as good at watching film to see what is going on with each player to see why a drop in play happened. In Gordon's case specifically, his OL was horrible in 2024 in comparison to 2023. Film study confirms this. He is the same RB. Even Savaiinaea had a drop in play and ranking because he was playing OT instead of what got him noticed, guard. Had he played guard in 2024, he would have been a 1st round pick. So, Miami lucked out in both cases. IMO these 2 players alone will eventually give the Dolphins a much higher grade when it all settles out.

That’s a good bit like taking last year’s lotto numbers and thinking they somehow have more value than last week’s numbers for a drawing tomorrow.

Seems like a weird flex is all.
