The kid gets beat more then a red headed step child. I have friends who are die hard Bear fans and said he is probably the worse coverage safety (yes worse then Wilson) in football and gets ran over more then a speed bump. Now thats sad and i dont want to be sad and neither do the rest of my Dolphin brothers. Daniel manning would be that guy getting dunked over on an NBA poster. I'd rather have the guy on the poster doing the dunking you know what i mean chief?

I hear ya, but ive heard some good things about this guy. he is supposedly extremely athletic and can also be used as a kick return specialist. from what i remember he plays alot at nickelback for the bears. if he truly is as bad as gerbil (or worse) as you say, then he is definately not what we need.

He's a freak of an athelete but I'm not sure how he plays or what he gives up.

I live in Chicago. I watch both teams. Manning is better than wilson all day. PLUS, he returns kicks, special teams is HUGE for this front office.

im really hoping clemmons goes ape **** in camp, but well see..

do we really need to make new threads everyday about each safety in the league and why he should be our next FS?

I watch every Bears game, and at this point Manning has been unable to develope at safety because of the terrible Bears coaching staff. They switch his position about every 3 weeks, from free safety to strong safety to nickle and then back again, so he hasn't been able to become a reliable player at any position.
He is extremely athletic and a great kick returner, but at this point he is a liabilty on defense, but I think if he is given a position and some quality coaching, he could turn in to a decent defensive back.
