One issue we really haven’t discussed when we’ve written about the Dolphins trading for and giving a two-year deal to Reggie Bush or when we’ve talked about Tiki Barber trying out for Miami or the addition of retread Larry Johnson is how the team feels about second-round pick Daniel Thomas.

Well, when the most exciting thing you’ve done since you were drafted was to have your name attached to a porn event, that pretty much says it all. In other words, Thomas hasn’t done much in training camp.

As told by the Miami Herald, Thomas is having a tough time transitioning to the pro game, as evidenced by the grocery list of improvements Thomas needs to make. That includes being more physical, running with more explosion, being less tentative, keeping his legs churning, getting his pad level lower and keeping his shoulders squared.

"I would say that's about right," Thomas told the paper. "I've just got to lower my pads and trust my blocks and everything like that and I'm trying to get better here at practice and carry it into the next game."

The guy has less then a months practice in the NFL. Give him time, he will be fine. Now, teaching him to block ? Thats going to be a challenge as he never did it at KSU

The overall number 1 pick needs a lot of work too. Thomas will be fine.

He looks like he has much potential. He looks quick to me. I have read camp reports commenting how slow he looks at times but watching him run against Dallas I get the impression that even though he isn't as fast as Reggie Bush he has the speed to break one if given the chance. Rooting for him.

He definately needs work but so does every other rookie this year. This year is going to be tough on rookies. Instead of all of OTA's to learn the pass protections, Thomas is learning it on the fly. The one thing I like is I've heard reports of him doing the Reggie Bush after practice routine a few times. Definately a good sign

Biggest thing to take from that is that he knows what his biggest problem is.... keeping his pad level lower.
With that said, i don't think he has played too poorly. Give him time. Give him practice. and give him the rock. he will be just fine.

Looked GREAT on the third drive when Larry scored.

Not much after that.

He'll be fine, seems to have good vision from what I see

He does have some things you can't teach or learn though. He's got very good vision and quick reaction time.
