Daniel Thomas

I loved what i saw out fo him, two plays if he could have stayed up after getting caught around the ankles he would have most liekly scored.

HOwever, i did not like how he got stood up by a safety. That should be an easy extra 5 yards when a safety tries to hit a rb his size up high.

The only bright side really from the Texans game. I like this kid.

After a handful of meaningless pre-season games where nobody was running well behind that 1st string O line the guy was garbage and now that he gets a few lanes to run through and looks good he's a "steal". He's the same player he was in pre-season, he didnt get any faster or stronger, he just got some running lanes and got some more opportunities. The guy was a good back, take it from someone who actually watched him in college being an OU fan. He's the same guy he was in pre-season but since he wasnt lighting it up behind our garbage O-line and he doesnt run a 4.3 (which doesnt mean much except to the novelist fans) because running backs rarely run 40 yards in a straight line in shorts no less the guy was garbage. Reminds me of when some Dolphin fans were saying Bradford was a product of the OU system and that Tebow looked better in the National Title game. Dolphin fans jump to conclusions without knowing what they're talking about. Jones on the other hand, is a product of the OU system. Rant complete

When looking at his "highlight" video, I also saw him only running for 7-15 yard gains, not sure if he ever ran for over 20-30.

Hate to add a Madden comment but I have the Dolphins in 4 online leagues and in 30 something games he is getting 100 yards a game but his longest has been been 19 yards.

As far as Madden is concerned, do you think he's deserving of 83 speed? I think he looked quicker than that

I was very worried about the position until this last game. I still would have liked to more insurance from a veteran on the roster and in case of injury. Hopefully the Charles Clay brings something simliar to the roster as insurance. Lot to hope for from a 6th round rookie. We also have to keep in perpective that DT has only played in one game so hope the trend continues and he keeps proving the naysayers wrong on us drafting him.

when healthy he can run a 4.5 flat. that's decent speed for a back his size. he will eventually get the hang of it (and some downfield blocking from Marshall, Bess and Hartline) and start breaking off bigger runs. by way of comparison, ricky williams' long run in 1999 was 25 yards, in 2000 26 yards and in 2001 46 yards. it wasn't until we traded for him that he started breaking off long runs (no, i'm not comparing ricky to thomas).

no way he runs too high a pad level....he sucks. i know cus experts on here said so.

He is a big shifty back, I start him over R Bush. D Thomas does play like a 83 speed but he can really cut back if the hole is not there. And while he is not a tackle breaker he does not get knocked back. I'm semi surprised that I'm picking up so many yards with a "slower' running back. But like in RL, he can avoid tackles really well. He makes a lot of 3 to 9 yard runs. He is a LOT like Ronnie Brown did except he does not have the top speed that Ronnie had. He rarely runs over 15 yards but he rarely loses yardage.

i was watching some of his interviews and he seems eager to get back out there and prove himself again. He said in one of his interviews that later in the game his legs began to get heavy and he was taken down by people who shouldnt be able to take him down. I think he is going to be running hard and looking for the endzone. Hopefully he realized what he needed to work on from the last game and he improves. Im pumped for the game in cleveland.

I think we might want to see a better sampling than in one game against a generally poor defensive team. I, like all of you, love to see a quality RB in the Dolphins backfield but I don't want to return to the previous 3-4 years where we sold the farm to have a good running game while most the better teams were winning with a passing game and a complimentary running game. I think the Dolphins need Reggie to produce like we hoped he would more than we need Thomas to certify as a ponder. Our defense is simply to unstable to win with a "cloud of dust" type offense.
