I have been reading in many places that daniels will be a better FS then a CB. Do you see this occuring? Lacne at SS, Daniels our FS, Madison at one and Poole at 2 and maybe go with mitchell, a draftee or pickup a clement type CB? I think daniels ouwl dbe the better FS b/c of his free lance type instincts and he is our best INT secondarian right now. He can be our Brock Marion again. But he doenst seem too big for a FS? so i dono but I wouldn't mind.

where did you read this? Some other message board by some other poster, or moniker of yours? how about a link?

That is a stupid thread. Anyone who gives Daniel a D is a moron.

When Daniels was drafted, there was speculation whether we were gunna use Daniels at FS or CB. He played both positions in college for Saban and was very good at FS. But then Will Poole went down in mini-camp and that was the end of that question. He has good speed for a safety and ball recognition skills (except for that play on Finneran  )

I wouldnt rule it out especially since Poole will be back. Also, Saban will probably draft another CB and might add a nickle type CB from FA...

tahts what i think and i believe this was his intentions from teh get go as poole was a surprise and unexpected. Daniels does have good ball rec. skills.

I don't see it, esp. since Poole won't be up to full speed for at least another season, if ever, (and poole was slower coming out of the draft than daniels...) it is more likely that poole gets moved, and daniels stays, or poole gets moved to nickel next year.

yeah we were talking about this in the other thread. it think it would work, but it wont happen unless the CBs are drastically upgraded

That was the speculation after the draft. However, the injury to Poole kind of threw those plans out the window.

Poole has never played safety, and he should be fully rehabed for next year. The time for healing on that injury is 6 months to play and about a year to be back to normal. As he was injured in may come 2006 he will be 1 year and 4 months from the injury.

Daniels played safety at LSU and was doing a great job until a CB got hurt and they needed him at CB as they had better depth at safety...

Personally, I believe, that for Daniels to be effective at the FS position, he would have to bulk up at least 10 pounds, preferably 15. Else, you are going to have another tackling mismatch in the secondary, ie Madison. But please dont flame me, I am going on the record stating I am VERY pleased with what I have seen from Madison so far, with the exception of his lack of picks.;)

I could see it if we drafted Jimmy Williams and he could start with Madison with Poole at nickel until getting back up to speed and that Mitchell kid is pretty good
