Latest:Daniels starting, Howard at Nickel.

Just heard Cefalo on 790AM the ticket say that Daniels was starting CB and Howard the nickel back at training camp. I know its early yet guys but im hoping Daniels will come on strong, if hes starting at training camp is it a clue to where Saban sees him, he obviously has confidence in the kid. Thoughts?

No it wasn't. Many had Reggie Howard pegged as the other starter.

I said from day one that Travis would surprise and everyone would like him.

Because, he is big, physical, (Saban type corner), and he already knows the system.

I would love to see him step up and be the starter, but lets not jump the gun here. I'm sure they will switch up the starter in camp and I doubt anything is close to being set at that position.

hahaha
yea im alittle worreid about it

But Saban has known this kid for a couple years now so im sure he knows what he is capable of doing

there is a natural worry because we are missing Pat but with the current personel and coaching change to me it makes sense...Im sure Travis is making all the secondary calls since he has been in the system 3+ years and maybe he has some talent :D.

I'm more worried about Howard starting at corner than Daniels. I have never seen Daniels play either.

Nobody's worried about this?
I am, am I crazy?

I am as well. But in the long run, we will be a better team. Thats why we should curn our expectations some this year. Saban and some of the rooks will just get their feet wet this year. Still, heres hoping he plays lights out.

Na you not crazy I think it might hurt us. We'll just have to see. On the bright side though you can look to Randall Gay. He did pretty good in his rookie year handling a lot of snaps.

why are you worried? it isn't like we are expected to win the super bowl or anything this year... (uh, you weren't were you?) and if this is a rebuilding year, why not get some of the younger guys some experience and find out if they can play with the big boys or not? Also are you questioning Saban's eye for talent already? IF anything last year should have proved to us that NOT taking a chance on younger guys isn't the way to win either.
