How do you think our Deffese would have been if he never got injured? He can cover which we our missing. His salary is a big cap hit, we could cut him and use that money on Odrick and other free agents. Maybe a running back they say this offseason there are going to be some on the open market.

I would have liked to see what coach Duffner would have been able to do with him. He could have been a lot better than he was last year. Guess we will never know, I doubt he will be here next year.

We got to see Jelani Jenkins come off the bench, become a star, and solidify the LB group.

It's like when Drew Bledsoe got hurt, and bench warmer Tom Brady trotted on the field.


There are 64 starting OLBs in the NFL.

And in this recent article, it said that Jelani Jenkins was "..ranked by Pro Football Focus as the league’s third-best outside linebacker.."

Agreed. I don't know if Jenkins would have gotten his chance to shine if Ellerbe didn't get hurt.

question should be "how much better would out D & cap be, had we not bought a merc and drafted/signed future starters.. that's how champions are built

Ellerbee as a backup and getting paid as one would be solid but as a starter him and wheeler are equally incapable
