He may have 34 or more picks before he's called. I wouldn't be shocked, although 20s is more likely. Definitely a candidate to drop.
I really don't see it with this guy. Defensive tackle is my favorite position. There are so many players who have gone mid first round or later with special qualities, ones Shelton lacks. You don't have to go too far back to Richardson and Star, among others. His workout numbers are a joke in so many areas. Short arms. Sloppy frame. Wandering blob. Good but not great prospect.
I like to look for prospects who have become undervalued due to unusual circumstance. Shelton doesn't qualify. Just the opposite. The Florida State defenders do qualify. Lots of value there, IMO. They changed defensive coordinators before last year and the unit never jelled. The pass defense went from #1 nationally in yards per pass to bottom half of the country. I prefer Goldman to Shelton. Go back to 2013 and there's no comparison between the two.
