Definitely not arguing that. Kids teaching a class right now at his school. He's a smart kid. Wouldn't mind having him. But I prefer other needs at 14.
 
While he is more of a true NT ... so are many of the great 43 DT's. Next to Suh they would be an unblockable tandem destroying offenses.

If Scherff, Parker and Waynes are gone ... he's my pick.

shouldnt be targets for us...i think sheltons in for a longer wait than he thinks to hear his name come next thursday also...closer to 20 than 10
 
If Shelton makes it to 14 oyr phones will be ringing imo. I like him but that's adding sthrengh to sthrengh while we still need a big WR, MLB,corner and guard.

shelton does seem like a good guy though, heard him in some interviews on sports shows... he will be a great player in the NFL at DT. for those that are stating him as a bust though due to his numbers in the 40 and at the combine i find ridiculous though. watch his tape #1 more, and the position he plays is so different when comparing those numbers.

He may have 34 or more picks before he's called. I wouldn't be shocked, although 20s is more likely. Definitely a candidate to drop.

I really don't see it with this guy. Defensive tackle is my favorite position. There are so many players who have gone mid first round or later with special qualities, ones Shelton lacks. You don't have to go too far back to Richardson and Star, among others. His workout numbers are a joke in so many areas. Short arms. Sloppy frame. Wandering blob. Good but not great prospect.

I like to look for prospects who have become undervalued due to unusual circumstance. Shelton doesn't qualify. Just the opposite. The Florida State defenders do qualify. Lots of value there, IMO. They changed defensive coordinators before last year and the unit never jelled. The pass defense went from #1 nationally in yards per pass to bottom half of the country. I prefer Goldman to Shelton. Go back to 2013 and there's no comparison between the two.

we'll see...maybe the browns at 12 if the top 3 wrs are off the board and they'd rather have him than perriman i guess...although if i was the browns 19 is a great spot for a dt...and i like eddie goldman more than shelton anyways for what they each would bring to the table for our defense...
