I've had this gut feeling for the past few weeks that Butler will be our pick, but after listening to Mayock last night on Path to the Draft, he's convinced Butler will go in the top 20.

I guess I can't see enough teams needing CB's to grab him that early, but is there a chance he could be the first CB off the board?

If so, does that mean Malcolm Jenkins could slip to 25?

I was thinking the exact same thing. I believe will have Malcolm or Vontae slip to us. I have a weird feeling that Mayock is right and Butler will be gone before we pick.

As far who we choose would be depending on if they feel comfortable enough with Vontae's character or would they prefer trying Malcolm at CB first and then moving to FS if it doesn't work out. If they take any my guess would be on Vontae. i couldn't imagine them dealing with another conversion like JA not to mention the money we have tied up at the position.

Bad attitude is always a negative to me. It's bad for the coaches and bad for the lockerroom. If Darius is gone and they want to pick a CB, Sean Smith would be my choice. Even though he is tall for the position, he sits down in his backpedal and shows flexible hips. His cuts in his breaks are smooth also. Lastly, he would be a good match-up with the taller WR in our conference.

Yeah I agree I was only making this assumption that they have these players rated higher on their board. I would probably do the same as the teams before them and move on considering we need help immediately and this would only be creating another potential problem.

I wouldn't touch Vontae Davis. I don't care how talented he is, the dude is toxic. I would rather have Sean Smith.

i think we will have a shot at him and Vontae Davis i would take eather one of them

Malcom Jenkins and Sean Smith are NFL safeties.

Sean Smith's vertical and broad jump are really troubling.

IMO Darius Butler is the best CB in this years draft.

I keep hearing people say that Vonte Davis has some issues with his temper or hes hard to coach or something....what is it exactly that the coaches are worried about? Is he a criminal off the field like Pacman Jones was? The kid has a heck of a lot of talent....it would be hard to pass on him with the 25th pick.

Yep, ever since BP said Jenkins is a safety in the NFL, and everyone ran with it along with Vontae's attitude, Butler or Smith could be the 1st one taken.

How great would it be if BP actually thinks Jenkins is a CB and he said that to lowers his value

Why would we really want Butler? He is too small and weak. He also was abused by Rutgers WR Kenny Britt and has trouble with bigger receivers. I think any team who picks him is going to watch him get ate alive in the NFL

I'm not sure why Alphonso Smith is not in this conversation. If he was 1-2 inches taller he would definetly be this 1st corner taken.

Darius Butler is supposedly high on the Pats list as well. I don't think Jenkins slips all the way to 25.

Sean Smith is not a safety, he is a corner. He averaged over 30 yards per interception return, his longest was 38 yards, he is a game changer.

That's exactly why he is not in the conversation. I don't want a secondary filled with Oompa Loompas.

He will end up being a better pro then Vontae Davis and Malcom Jenkins. The only guy I like a little better then Alphonso Smith is Darius Butler.

lol....that's messed up. Anyways I would still take him. Guys that are going to abuse his height like Moss are going to get double coverage anyways. i don't think the coaching staff is dumb enough to try leaving players like that on an island by themselves again.
