Darlington blog... Tuesdays morning practice

Great read. I sure am liking what is coimg out of camp this year. Ronnie looks to be a stud (hopefully he doesn't annoy his teammates) and Jason Allen looks like he will pick up the defense fast enough. I can hardly wait for the regular season.

Wow, Kevin Greene as in camp eh? That guy is/was a madman.

I like the thing about ROnnie running down the field after every play. That makes him that much more in shape and should pay off during the fourth quarters of games, when everyone else is winded and beat up.

Sounds good. Darlington has been the only beat writer giving us anything. I'm very glad he's been so diligent.

It seems promising that JT was working with Kevin Greene. He may or may not learn anything, but his back must have been ok enough for him to be doing some technique work and such.

Part of what he said about Ronnie Brown:

One of his practice habits he continues to do reminds me of something Ricky Williams often has been known for during practice. On every running play, even if it breaks down at the line, Brown continues to sprint downfield for 10-20 yards after the whistle has been blown.

I'm glad Ronnie was able to get a season in with Ricky. This is an example of one of the "little things" new players pick up from the older ones.

The interesting part I saw was "Expect that competition for the starting job at strong safety to heat up quickly as Allen gets acclimated to the system."

I was under the impression Allen would be a FS. Is there some change I am unaware of or is this a simple typo?

Very nice. Ronnie is a beast. He will have no problems carrying the load this season. And who cares if he annoys his teammates. It might payoff cme gameday.

I'm nominating Darlington for 2006 Training Camp Media MVP. Serious.

Anywho, interesting note about how Roth chased after Harrington screaming like a mad man. I wonder if that was Kevin Greene's doing? He was working with our DEs...

Just having allen in camp is going to change the personnel at safety immensly.

A veteran reporter once told me teammates used to get annoyed when Ricky would sprint downfield every play – but I’m doubting Brown is worried about that

Why would vets get annoyed with that? Maybe because it delays the session, i dont know, anyone with ideas?

Looks as if Ricky was a positive influence on Ronnie. Greene is the man I still have his headliner on the wall. I hope to see our LB's as effective as Greene and Lathon along with Mills was up here in Car under Capers.

I like his reports.Fan friendly. There was another reporter on the PBP who had a similar style and who went on to better things.I Forget his name now.
